hmmm yup I actually was going to do so but then I thought, maybe I will try and leave the texture on the skin to make it more like a "painting" but I guess I failed to achieve such effect with photoshop.

I really should use painter8 for such thing

airbrush tool, very low pressure settings...that's the basis.

I posted a tutorial link on realistic painting in photoshop last time, but aparently it got lost when the forum went, and i lost my bookmarks as well due to HD screwing up..

EDIT: ah, found it finally... http://www.wade.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorial1.htm

yep i know that tutorial. it's some quality stuff. I read thru it when I first start doing CG. really helpful.

apperently, I think that photoshop's brush are rather boring. Corel Painter (aka painter) is very popular among the professional artists. It pretty much got everything you need from oil brush to water colour. I got the actual program but I havent yet got the hang of it.

as for OC (aka openCanvas) which created by this japanese company (www.portalgraphics.net) are more like a lite version of Photoshop and Painter together and the program itself is only about 5MB (maybe less) it's really cool and easy to use. especially for doodling. the program is famous among those anime style CG artists.

it's really just up to personal preference. I've used photoshop the longest so if you were asking me to change, it takes me sometime to get use to it. it took me about a month to get around in opencanvas

Gaara thats areally really really nice.
I can hardly tell the difference between the 2.
I showed the original then the duplicate without letting my family know and they said that the duplicate was the real thing, and i laugh and told them nope. They were stunned too.

Very nicely done!

omg, that's awesome. heheh. I just had a quick question. When you made that picture, did you just look at the photograph and drew it on the computer using curvy line tools? heheh, my roommate doesn't believe that you drew that free hand on the computer.
