Is there a good show like this? Like Cowboy Bebop, or Black lagoon, or Darker than black? Im kind of looking for a semi-episodic anime, like how the shows I just listed were, like there were some arcs but still very good stand alone eps.

For ongoing series I would recommend you Rental Magica and You're under arrest. Both of them are episodic but they may not be good enough.

Hm, you seem to be in to more "serious" shows.

Jigoku Shoujo - drama/horror(?).

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - horror/mystery. It consists form a lot of mini arcs, each spanning ~ 5 episodes. One of my favorite animes.

If you don't mind mystery/supernatural, I'd like to recommend Ghost Hunt. Not really action-oriented like the ones you posted, but has a great storyline just like you requested. It's made up of mini arcs called "files" that last for about 3-4 episodes each.

Mononoke consists of short 2-4 episode arcs. Since you seem to like darker themes, you should like this one. It's on my best of 2007 list.

The prequel, Bakeneko, is available as a single DVD in R1 called "Goblin Cat."

Made by the same director who made Cowboy Bebop.
A really great series.
