Cosmic Eagle: 通神 is word play on "tsuushin", which means "communication". It is translated as "Divine Transmission".

Icy.Tear: フトーノス is written in Greek as φθόνος [phthonos] and the Logismoi Oplo's whole name is όλος φθόνος [ólos phthonos].

Ah, it's about this: 賢鉱石<オレイ・メタロ>?

I don't have an idea what オレイ could be, but メタロ could be metall, I think...?

Finally finished reading 4B and there were a lot of important plot points this time:
Spoiler for 4B:

...? Ops, this wasn't what I wanted to say:

I stumbled upon this page→ link which seems to list down quite a lot of those, so if we can pinpoint the language that Kawakami based the names on (e.g. like with the logismoi oplo), we should be able to pin words to them.
  • 賢水 (オレイ・ネーロ) - Orei Nero?
  • 賢鉱石 (オレイ・メタロ) - Orei Metallo?
  • 賢銅 (ヒヒイロカネ) - Hihi-iro kane?
  • 賢白鉱 (シロイカネ) - Shiroi kane?
  • 賢黒石 (クロヒカネ) - Kurohi kane?
  • 賢金剛 (オレイ・コークス) - Orei Kochs?

賢水ってちょっと異なる気がしますが・・・
取り敢えず、賢はオレイとしても、カタカナを英訳するつもりなんですか。
ヒヒイロカネやシロイカネなどは明かにScarlet MetalとWhite Metalというものですね。

で、金剛ってコークスとなり、鉱石ってメタロとなりますことでしょうに、
ラノベの元のシチューや関係国を参考にしたらいいではないかと思っています。

Okay, here we go.
Nero is "intelligence" in Finnish.
So from that, we can go with öljy nero for 賢水.

Not sure about this, though.

Er...Except the common factor between all the 賢* is Orei, not Nero.

  • 賢黒石 (クロヒカネ) - Kurohi kane?
  • 賢金剛 (オレイ・コークス) - Orei Kochs?
fix
賢水 (オレイ・ネーロ) - Olay Nero (Nero = water?)
賢鉱石 (オレイ・メタロ) - Olay Metal
賢銅 (ヒヒイロカネ) - Hihi (red?) iro (color) kane (steel) - "Olay Copper" if translated literally
賢白鉱 (シロイカネ) - Shiroi (white) kane (steel) - "Olay white ore"
賢黒石 (クロヒカネ) - Kurohi (black) kane (steel) - "Olay black ore"
賢金剛 (オレイ・コークス) - Olay Kochs? - "Olay diamond"

賢鉱石 or 賢石 actually means the philosopher's stone
Why does he use "Olay" to represent it, I m still working on it (maybe related to that famous brand?)

And this is a good site as I am Chinese and I know little bit of Japanese
I may able to find something on it

Well am I fucked....

Thought it was Metro since well...the Moscow Metro And that the jewel in the kanji meant it as the jewel of Russia... ....goddamit...must get all those mental images of Stalin in Horizon body suits as the real power in Oushuu and Svet Rus out my head...

In the first place what's Orei? I know there's a place in Russia called Orel....and that it can be also written as Oryol meaning eagle but that doesn't fit the kanji....

Well, the update of history terminates in A.D.1648 so we won't have Stalin here, but if by any chance it continues, and base on what the author did to Yoshitsune, I really doubt that we will have a female ver of Stalin

Sorry for jumping in, but I read the first 10 or so pages and I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Where could I buy the first volumes?
And I only took about 1 and half years of Japanese cllass, so I wonder could I read this novel, or it really need a college level of Japanese language to start?

The ISBN numbers are provided below the project page to facilitate you buying them online. You can go for Amazon for reliability or bk1 for lower shipping options. That is, if you don't have Japanese bookstore near you. Another product page.

As to whether it's recommended for you to try reading it, that can only be decided by yourself. If you can provide either the number of hours you've studied or the vocab & kanji count level (assuming you study at a balanced rate with grammar), perhaps more qualified people can advise you. Or you can try out a trial version of a special chapter with the BD here to get a feel of the language.

The history recreation in their world isn't done exactly as it happened in the original time. Most of the events in Horizon involving this recreation were supposed to happen decades ago and that's why people like Ivan or Nobunaga are still alive.
