- Volume 1:

Honda Tadakatsu/Kazuno/Matsudaira Motonobu = They all died to pass the message about the Apocalypse to the world. Because ether vein(s?) in Mikawa got out of control, Mikawa "exploded" and that's it. In the fifth episode you'll understand how awesome was this.

- Volume 2:

Nobody important died. Well, there is a character that "dies", but it's not important.

- Volume 3:

Before writing, I'll say that the deaths here are one of the main reasons that a lot of fans (including myself) want to see at least a third season of Horizon. I would say that it's not the best thing to know about this now, but...

1) Anne d'Autriche (Anne of Austria) = In the world of Horizon, Anne was the little sister of the Louis XIV. She died because she wanted to protect the people she loved (of Hexagon Francaise) and the new generation (Musashi). This happened because the enemy, the Hashiba forces from P.A.ODA (Oda Nobunaga is the leader) used a "bomb of ether".

2) Matsunaga Hisahide = The senpai of Nobunaga in "destroying", died to allow Musashi to go on. He destroyed the ship he was in and that's it. He did that because he found two idiots that he could trust the world (Nobunaga as the one who destroys, and Toori as the one who builds).

3) Minamoto Yoshitsune = She already appeared in the anime (first character to appear). She died? because of the same "bomb of ether". It's not certain if she really died (I don't want to believe in this), so I won't comment much on this.

4) Satomi Yoshiyori (Second) = He died in the place of the Marga Naruze: First of all you have to know that Marga has the name of Naruse Masayoshi, a person who died in the battle of Mikatagahara. And they were "remaking" this battle, so the enemies requested that Marga should die. What happened in the third volume was that Yoshiyori took this name and died in her place (one of the best scenes in Horizon until now).He did that entrusting everything about Satomi to Toori and to prevent other tragic deaths happening from now on.

Well, you know that Toori's worship god is a god that likes what Toori does the best: jokes, awesome "bokes", etc... That's why Toori has a nice storage of "ryuutai", so he have some kind of defensive power against female attacks?

But what you probably wanted to know was about Neito Maman, so yes. He resisted to her "attacks" (you know, those involving a bed), so we can say that he is immune to every woman "attack" in the world lol

I've been itching to say this, but I thought Sunrise did a really good job with his spell in the OP, took me a couple of rewatches to figure it out but

isn't it a giant battery plugged into a socket? That totally made a lot of sense. I really can't wait to see what they come up with Kimi vs. Futayo.

after that flashback scene where she beat the crap out of Toori and fed him salt and crap. I think that was more touching than Horizon's at the end.

I totally went SSJ4 too during Toori's speech where he goes I'LL TAKE ALL YOUR IMPOSSIBILITIES AND YOU WILL TURN TAKE MY POWERS TO TURN EVERYTHING INTO POSSIBILITIES and everyone go I'LL NEVER LET MY KING FEEL SADNESS. That whole scene was just incredibly epic as hell. Still send me shivers thinking about it, then it all plays into Horizon getting her negative emotions back (I'm sorry I can't make you more perverted for now <-- totally lmao for that part too).

That scene, Mikawa ending with all the automation singing and the eruption of Earth Vein, the part where they are about to leave and we get that ridiculously nice 3 panel illustration of them heading into battle, and Horizon's hax power at the end are the 4 major MAJOR scenes that I hope they spend all their budgets on.

I honestly think if they pull off those 4 well, this series will net enough sales to continue on. They are just so freaking epic (not to mention all those fights coming up too ... AHHHHHH can't wait!

@bolded: this saddens me greatly. She's one of the main reasons I've come to love this series despite not even showing up yet in the anime!
What little I saw of her in the PV was enough to make me love her and well even before that her character design is a hit for me.
Much like with Musashi, these 2 hit the mark in character design but it's always a pity that the general chracter design mostly gets relegated to side characters.
Rarely do you see such characters play major roles, saddens me great when I think about that.

Well if what I saw in the PV is how she goes down fighting then that does soften the blow but only ever so slightly

Still it is pretty badass what she does in only a few secs, dancing with giant metal plates and playing with what I guessed in the anime thread to be tank sized shells in the her hands.
It's good reason for liking her.

Yeah ... especially her character is very similar to Senjougahara in the verbal abuse department ...

It makes me extra sad because I see her and Honda Tadakatsu (this guy's pretty badass, you should wiki him) as a couple, and they both die.

Kazuno literally means deer antlers .

Yeah, like I said, it kinda sucks, but the rest of it will help you get over it .

Anyways, if you can, please tell me more about Anne and Minamoto in general. Also, what is Mary doing right now in the current story?

The girl with many swords and a bull horn is Houjou Ujinao.
The other girl is Satomi Yoshiyasu, a member of the Satomi clan which eventually submitted themselves under the Houjou clan.

Yeah, now that I read your post, I remembered more awesome scenes. Heck, starting from the fifth episode we'll be having a sequence of epic episodes until the end... Well, I'm trusting in the staff because they are doing this very seriously and Kawakami helped a little, so now we just have to wait.

Yeah, that socket was a really nice visual for that "tecnique". You know, there was a joke about Toori's power being exactly like a power socket, so I lol'ed when I saw that on the OP.

Besides the scenes that you said, I really want to see Suzu's confession scene. When I read this scene other day I'm almost sure that I'll cry... And Noriki's battle and Masazumi X "Moto shounen" are other two scenes that really make me fell very excited.

Mary is now the fiancee/wife of Tenzou (that ninja...!) and the future mother of the next king/queen of the England. Because of that she is in Musashi too. She got the position of assistant of Tenzou in the fourth volume...(あの野郎許さねえ!)

About Anne: Since the start from the third volume she was very weak and near her death. In fact, we don't have so much focus on her (as I would like), but even so we can get to understand that she is doing everything she can to the next generation (Musashi as example) and because of that and her love for the people from Hexagone Française, she died... About Yoshitsune: She is (was) the leader of the Shin Takeda. Because of that she had the names of Takeda Shingen and Nurhachi. She is one of the most older "people" in Horizon's world (just not more than the "Mikado"). After an awesome scene envolving Toori and her, she decided to help Musashi. She normally don't care about the world because she already lived for too much time, but the situations in the third volume made her back to normal? I still think that she is a key-person to the true plot, so I don't think she is dead... But who knows...

She is Neito Mitotsudaira's mother and the vice-chancellor of the Hexagone Française. She started as a very powerful enemy, but because of some things she turned into an ally later. She helped Toori a little about the "what is really a king?" (she is the queen of the werewolves) and a little with Neito (her power-up and her love?).

About the PS: Her husband loves that

Yes and no. She died 10 years ago, but her soul was transfered into the P-01s. There are a lot of other details, but P-01s (actual Horizon) doesn't have all the emotions and that's why I answered as "Yes and no". Horizon is still alive as the P-01s, or now as the "new" Horizon Ariadust, but she is not the same from that Horizon from 10 years ago... yet.

I've asked Allen a similar question, to which the answer goes something like this:

It "depends on the person", Toori already likes 'Horizon' and the other girls support that, but there's a growing chance of "this and that" happening for some of them.

I think anyone walking around with a permanent ( ¯‿¯) face is pretty badass just from the start.

He doesn't really power up or learn anything. Basically he made a huge sacrifice to get an ability, which ... you can say is broken as hell but at the same time very useless.

If you are curious at what it is, I'm sure you can dig it out since I know you know Japanese =).
