Eternal Senia

Game recommendation: Eternal Senia

Clocked at just 4.5 hours, Eternal Senia is a short journey, but it sure felt like an eternity. Simple intuitive combat makes the game fun, and with the other skills and puzzle mechanics, it kept me interested without boring me. Not to difficult, and not too simple. The music itself really set the mood of the game. At every scene, it felt like every piece of music matched the moment. The biggest part of what I loved is the story. It is incredbily enticing and left me wanting me and more. The more I played, the more I was finding myself to be romanced by this world and its characters. You can tell Priest put a lot of love into this game. The game has 3 endings, which without spoiling it, left me with a lot of feels. Out of the 3 endings, ending 3 is the canon one, just for your information.

For a game thats free, and short, it felt much longer than some 40 hour rpgs and more rewarding. I highly suggest anyone who loves a great story to play this.

As an avid RPG player I just had to take a look at this. Decided to play it a bit but didn't really expect much from a free game.

Holy crap I was wrong. The story really takes you in and makes you feel for the main character. Before I realized I had played through the whole game and it was definitely worth it. Eternal Senia feels a lot like Lufia for those familiar with the franchise and Lufia was an excellent game.

What's the battle system like? That's the most important question.

If it feels like Lufia, it should be turn-based RPG with dungeon crawling elements, but if it's 4.5h long, I'd scratch out the latter.

The atmosphere feels (for me) like Lufia but the battle system is different. It's touch-based, meaning you run into enemies to damage them and they reflect damage back at you. Senia can also unlock up to four special skills as she progresses through the tower.

Run into enemies sounds like the bump system from the Ys games. Pass.

It's more like half-minute hero than Ys. And it's a shame that you're not even willing to try it out. You're not losing anything and potentially miss out on a great experience.

Played an hour or so, feels like the enchanted cave Good game, has a few completion tasks but doesn't get too grindy. The plot is interesting and the music fits the game, so I'll be seeing this one to the end(s).

I really enjoyed the game, much more than some games I pay 60 bucks for, and felt longer. I am very much interested in the sequel being made. Because reasons. You will know why when you beat the game.

There are two switches in the area with the water as well as a chest behind a statue. Look out for seemingly random grey squares. Aside of them there is the chest behind the wall behind one of the mini-bosses that you can access after unlocking the yellow circles.

I got the wall chest, the switch that makes a chest pop out of nowhere and the one that opens up a ladder to a chest...so I should be missing the one that is behind a statue. I'll search for that one, I guess...tomorrow xD
