Tachibana training hard. She still has a lot to learn.
Tsubasa sure is a messy girl, but seems like she's accepting Tachibana little by little.
Guess Hibiki really is growing into a real fighter.
Nice episode.

Tachibana most def has some bragging rights after that last fight. Not only is her training paying off but she is actually starting to understand what it takes to control her Gear. I think showed that basic training is the key for success in anything. She really didnt do any super secret crazy GAR training. But also out of everyone in the show able to use Symphogear Tachibana has the WILL to use it for something higher than herself. I think that alone will allow her to access more power of Gungnir than even Kanade could. Shes not bound by selfish ambition like Revenge or jealousy or just the need to beat the living crap out of anyone she thinks is stronger than her. However i must admit her introduction before trading fist was funny as hell, the only thing she didnt give was her weight lol (womens prerogative i guess)

The down side Miku saw everything how the hell do you explain to your friend why transformed into a super fighting hero was able to stop a car in mid air and move at super speed. I would suggest using the you were very hungry since you didnt eat all day and probably imagined the whole thing lol. Im going to love to see the excuse that Tachibana gives.

Let's hope that I wish that Hibiki will forgive her best friend, otherwise Miku will turn either something like Yomi of BRS or a full-fledged yandere.

Miku didn't betray Hibiki. She's mad because Hibiki lied to her, and is absolutely understandable. It's Hibiki who damaged their friendship in the first place. The one who has to redeem herself and seek forgiveness now is Hibiki, not Miku.

EDIT: I gotta say I really liked this episode. I liked the final moments specifically. During most the episode, Hibiki, like most anime heroines, keeps showing her cheerful disposition and sunny smile that seems to inspire everyone else in this sort of series. This parallels with her generic anime heroine philosophy of wanting to save everyone and keep everyone happy....

Until the end of the episode when all that cheerfulness shatters into a million pieces. When she cries "yadaa yo" after Miku basically breaks off their friendship was a great moment. Miku, after all, is the embodiment of what Hibiki wants to protect, the core of it, the most important thing, and it's the one thing she's losing now.

This is not Miku's tragedy. She isn't going to go yandere on us or anything. This is Hibiki's tragedy. She's the one losing what's most important to her, and it's a tragedy because it's the consequence of her own actions.

Can Hibiki repair what she herself broke, can she get Miku back in her life, or is this the beginning of her downfall? Well, let's wait and see...

While Miku's reaction in episode 7 is good from a dramatic standpoint, it's absolutely unbelievable. She comes off as a spoiled and childish character she isn't. They could have handled this way better, IMO.

Yeah, it's a bit out of character for her, but it's still believable enough to make the drama work, so it doesn't bother me that much personally. Hibiki needed a powerful wake up call to make her understand how much she was damaging her friendship with Miku, and this worked beautifully IMO.

How do you even come to this conclusion?
Hibiki has the responsibility to keep her identity secret because she now belongs to a secret organisation where people's lives, heck the entire human race's well being hinges on her to keep that responsibility, and Miku's reaction to all this is she can't forgive Hibiki lying because she was emotionally hurt?

No, it should be Miku who should seek forgiveness from Hibiki because Miku is being too selfish. A true, mature friend should have no problems seeing that Hibiki had a MUCH larger responsibility on her shoulders than keeping personal promises between two people that has no baring on the greater good of ALL OF HUMANITY. This is especially unforgivable on Miku's part even after the people of the organisation explained the situation to her.

Ultimately, Miku learned about it anyway, so it's not that there was much of a problem with her knowing to begin with. The guys at the organization even told her all the truth instead of making up a story to cover things up, which would make more sense in this situation.

So even if the organization asked Hibiki to keep all this a secret, I think she should have talked about it with Miku anyway. She's her best friend and has the right to know Hibiki is involved in something dangerous like this (she has the right to worry about her, because that's what friends do). Ok, maybe not tell her everything, but definitely not lie to her, which is the real issue and what made Miku so mad. Even if it was supposedly for a good cause, the fact remains that after all the lies Miku just can't trust Hibiki anymore. It's not that she doesn't want to, it's just the way she feels. So if Hibiki wants to patch things up with her she will have to do something to regain Miku's trust.

The organisation told Miku the situation AFTER Hibiki saved her from the falling car and the battle with Chris, and THEN it was Miku who shunted Hibiki and acted all cold and distance even when Hibiki was trying to approach her and talk to her about it, so Miku has to know that Hibiki wasn't lying to her because Hibiki wanted to lie, Hibiki had the responsibility to keep it a secret. There's no way you can justify Miku's reaction except that she is acting selfish and immature because she got hurt for a promise that is frankly, impossible to keep. Again the fact that it was a lie between two individual on a very personal level is quite insignificant compared to the burden that Hibiki was put into. I can understand Miku feeling just a little hurt, but any person mature enough should realise that Hibiki cannot be faulted for her actions and ultimately it should be Miku who should apologize (especially her actions in this episode), and not Hibiki.

Also if episode 1 is anything to go by, maybe Hibiki will die before Miku even gets a chance to apologize, and Miku is going to regret her burst of immaturity and selfishness for the rest of her life.

I doubt it'll be going in the direction you're expecting to. The scene was terribly out of place, and I personally wanted to slap Miku in the face for actually behaving like this. They could have gotten to the same point in a more believable way. Like this, it's good for shock value but it really annoyed me.

If it was impossible to keep, Hibiki shouldn't have accepted that promise in the first place.

Anyway, saving the world is cool and all, but if you're going to hurt your friend because of it, you better be prepared for the consequences. The fallout with Miku is a result of Hibiki's choices, so it's ultimately up to her to try to fix it or leave things like this and move on.

You logic is so messed up.

They made the promise out of childhood innocence and before Hibiki has activated her symophogear. Anyone mature enough to think rationally knows that everyone has secrets and cannot possibly be perfectly honest to another person in real life. Again you somehow cannot look at the two situations (saving the world and many people vs keeping a child-like promise) and see that one's importance FAR out weights the other, which also happened because of situations outside of Hibiki's control, and say Hibiki's is the one that has to go "fix" it makes me seriously question your maturity, you are appearing to be about as selfish as Miku.

The real answer is quite simple it should be Miku to think "Oh geez you lied to me because you need to do that in order to keep other human beings safe so I'm not going to fault you." not "Waaaa, you lied to me because our promise is more important than other human being's lives!"

Why the personal attack? This is anime for christ's sake. Don't you think you're taking things a bit too seriously. And you question my maturity.....

At any rate, I have no interest in continue with this discussion if you're going to make it all personal. We're talking about fictional characters here, and what I said was just my opinion from a story-telling perspective. If you disagree, that's ok, but there's not reason whatsoever to be rude (and it's against the rules of the board too)
