I think there was a moe-fied baseball anime, albeit an old one, probably made in the 80s or 90s, I can't remember the title.

If I am not mistaken, there is one called Princess 69... wait , is this a coincidence? Two series with similar name and premise.

You're slightly, and hilariously, mistaken. You're thinking of Princess 9, a baseball anime with high school girls.

Princess 69 would be a hentai about a dude ****ing girls in some kind of gymnastics course.

Yup. So, how about soccer?

@topic So how did the girls fare in the tournament? How was the second unit? How they can be better teammates to Tomoka's group?

Thanks, I can imagine It's a detailed match in the novel

Maho was the hero

PD: Seeing takenaka as the coach was rare in the anime...

I hope they made a second season,It seemed like the end of the anime(the dates with subaru) were all filler/anime original

can anyone give main story for each volume? like...

Volume 01 = Introduction, Subaru and Tomoka back story,
Volume 02 = Training, match defeat Boy's basketball club,
Volume 03 = Training Camp, winning inter-class basketball tournament,
Volume 04 = ...
Volume 05 = ...
and so on....

OMG SUBARU, VIOLATION OF THE BRO CODE IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH!

@topic I should say the anime did a good job in developing the girls' characters, especially Tomoka, Airi, and Hinata.

1. Airi's conversion from Glass Cannon to Stone Wall was amazing IMHO. The best way to combat most fears is to face the fear itself. With her height complex and hydrophobia overcome and some more training from her brother, Airi will no doubt become a very formidable Big Man Center for Keishin. Right now, she tries to convert into Mighty Glacier the way I see it.

2. Hinata's Character Development was also awesome in a way. You'd never expect a weak little girl to become Keishin's Secret Weapon.

3. The best aspect in Tomoka CD IMO is that she learned how to get out of the Stop Having Fun Guy phase, the Power Of Friendship, and play basketball the fun way: Playing it for the sake of playing and fun instead of playing it only to win.

Don't get me wrong, playing to win isn't always a bad thing. But if you do it every single goddamn time, you get bored because you don't get a fair match, plain and simple as that.

I agree, you are suppose to play for win, but not to the point of it becoming an obsession and turning into a drill sargent and undermining your teammates which is what Tomo used to be and that got her being isolated by her teammates and being bullied in class.

Volume 7 was actually pretty awesome, you have the comedy between the Kashii siblings and Sabaru getting a huge character development story with the introduction of an old rival that he can't beat along with appearance of Banri, Sabaru's High School team for next year is starting to take shape with a target he is going after.

Wait, Subaru's basketball school is weak? Why did he enter it then? (Sorry if mentioned before, but forgot it.)

Well he's middle school team was weak until he turn them around (it was describe as historically winless team) and got to the final in the prefecture tourney. Considering Japanese school sport are mostly single elimination with round robin final in prefecture round (if the prefecture has multiple representation)

Weak is probably too strong on my part, but his high school team was similar to his middle school team that was brought up to above average level by the lolicon captain.

Double checked 1st volume, Subaru was recruited by many other prominent school in the prefecture including the powerhouse school that has went on to the National for past 15 years and the school where his rival enters. The reason he gave to others was that his parent wanted him to go there (his school is a known academic school). But the real reason was that he idolized the lolicon captain's play style and wish to play with him.

Well, he didn't get to play with him, but I'd say he's following his path in a record fashion...

Yeah, Sabaru's a all-around PG like similar to Nash, but still, in basketball, unless you're talking about guarding a Center or oversized PF, a good defensive PG will usually get assigned to defend either the opposing ball handler or the opposing main score threat. From what V7 shows, his rival is either a SG or SF (more likely) but he was assigned to shut him down, which he couldn't do.

But really, V7 was awesome in many ways.

Haha, I Knew It. Subaru IS a traditional PG. Modern PG's usually become Combo Guards or even Point Forwards depending on the set-up. Indeed, true PG's are a rare sight nowadays.

So, are we going to nickname him "Steve Nash"?

Pretty much, Nash or Paul are the closest comparison, Stockton will be a good fit too. He's basically Kidd who can defend or a Rondo who can shoot.

I didn't remember Banri's playing style. Though I think he's pretty tall...

Given that, it's safe to assume Banri plays the Big Man Center or Power Forward.
