Actually, it said one of them is Goth Loli (which is a clothing style, not a character type), and until we get some sort of image, we have no clue what the hell either of them look like. I can't challenge the names, but in the world of anime, such naming practices are hardly uncommon.

This is the first show Gainax has actually hyped since TTGL, and the director is Imaishi. I don't see it being bad, at least.

I personally am very wary because it's Gainax. Heck, even when everything is going well mid-season for a show, I'm still wary because it's Gainax. Dunno, their particular failure at one anime adaptation has left me once burned, twice shy of the studio.

Not that's necessarily a bad thing mind you. After all, they can only go up if my expectation of them always starts low lol.

As for the anime itself... hmm, if they do a parody/homage to what makes Magical Girl anime great like they did with Gurren Lagann to its Mecha genre, then I can see this taking off rather spectacularly. Just avoid monster of the week (ugh, hated that part of TTGL, to the point where I think the movies are better BECAUSE they didn't have them), and they should be good to go.
