You know it is funny, other shows this Summer have a lot more fan service while Oda Nobuna no Yabou got subtle ones. Though those subtle ones have gotten a lot more attention.

I think that phrase would work better on the next episode due to the arrival of some new characters. You will be saying ballinnnn~ more than once when you see the new arrivals.

It's simple psychology, really. If there's a lot of something, it'll often be ignored. If it's a rare occurrence or not all that obvious, people tend to focus on it.

During the early days of sengoku jidai, many castles are simple, practical construction of sloping packed earth and wooden palisade. Even the distinctive central keep (tenshu) you see in modern-day Japanese tourist guides were built much later. The first castle with a tenshu, Azuchi Castle, was built by Nobunaga in 1576.

Wood is the main building material. There are many instances of Japanese castles being fired. For instance, after the battle of Shizugatake, Hideyoshi marched on Shibata Katsuie's Kitanosho Castle and seized it, but not before Katsuie committed seppuku and set fire on the keep.

Japanese castle builders build the central keep (tenshu) in such a way that any enemy archers outside the castle would be too far to set fire to it.

I think it's the simple fact that this series is actually good. Good characters, good animation and decent story, it's hard to come by something like these regularly.

Though after seeing some spoiler pics from the LN, I'm expecting some good service before the season is over.

At the beginning of the season, I classified Nobuna as one of those with fan service. What truly goes on in it threw me off completely.

IMO it's more like quality vs quantity.

Base off the preview for the next episode, we will be getting some fan service. The notable ones shown on the preview are Katsuie's breasts, Niwa's Legs, and Nobuna's eyes. I feel that fan service is now entirely becoming the sizes of female breasts these days in anime.

It is interesting to note, however, unlike what some people on this board have speculated, Yoshiharu DID bring modern innovations to Sengoku-era warfare. However, it was not anything I suggested like rifling, double barrels, or bayonets, but rather the use of prefabricated parts to construct fortifications.

That's why we can say Yoshiharu is a resourceful character.

How about composite material, for flexible armor?
