After watching episode 20, I was a little disappointed. I've enjoyed the series so far, but this one had me upset.

The guy who kidnapped Yuki and then later became her bodyguard seems to have fallen for Yuki. He even smelled her scent.

Not to mention they kept hitting the engines. Or at least it's stabilizers.

Yamato 2199 Earth artbook seems to be sold out at most shops, Amazon still has it and Honto has switched from disabled orders to 7-21 days availability.

Anyhow, AkibaBlog has a couple of preview pics, but they do have NSFW ads

http://blog.livedoor.jp/geek/archives/51404553.html

I honestly regret preordering it, I'll see if I can buy it in September.

I would point out that in the original they survived entirely by luck.

My Earth Book will be here in two weeks.

I didn't feel like paying $37 for EMS shipping (SAL registered was only $21).

DAMN. I should have ordered it from HLJ...their shipping fees for printed materials are a lot cheaper. I paid an extra $12 dollars AND it'll take longer to arrive. DOUBLE FAIL.

It's funny how in-universe people are STILL mixing up both Yuki and Yurisha. Even her sister Starsha, who should know better about this (see her stunned reaction at the Dommel memorial broadcast). I suppose the only real way to differentiate them for those not in the know is to put them side-by-side at this point, as they have differences that can only be seen up close -- Yurisha has purple eyes and lighter blonde hair for example.

And heck even then, being close doesn't guarantee they won't mix them up either, since Ito seems to have been clueless that it was REALLY Yurisha in the Seagull with them and not Yuuki. Then again, he spends a lot of the time squinting so...

Yabu thinks Yuki is cosplaying...and liking it.

Well that's the thing.

Spoiler for Yamato's technology:

I've also figured out that Yamato would have left Earth on February 12th, 2199. As the 12th of February (1942) was the date Yamato left Kure as flagship of the Combined Fleet Commander-in-Chief Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku. They've already used the symbolism of the ship's death on April 7th, 1945 twice...might as well use the 12th of February as well.

Spoiler for 1975 Rainbow Galaxy Battle:

If you have interest in battle history you'll find the Rainbow Galaxy Battle draws parallel from the battle of Midway in WW2.

Oh, and I forgot to add with my previous post, that's quite a lot of Comet empire prisoners going along with the prison break. Makes me wonder about what happened to them after control passed to Melda's father, as it makes the prison break a Gamilas affair more than anything.

That and April 7th, 1945, the day Yamato was sunk by American air power. In the orignal it was more clearly that day since in episode 2 there was a flashback to Battleship Yamato's sinking being told by Okita to Kodia, Shima, and Mori. This was cut from Star Blazers as it paint the Americans a bad guys (honorable bad guys as one of the pilots salutes Yamato's passing....something I doubt any of out pilots did that day). The Gamilas dive bombers recreate the American diver bombers diving in on Yamato in episode 22.

Yamato 2199 changes that of course.

That will be something. It also means the war against the Cometine has been going on for a long time. (or they surrender easy). With many thousands of ships destroyed during Yamato's advance into the Empire...what happens after Yamato goes home?

Well then they are taking a week off followed by episode 20 the following week (August 18th I think)

Chapter 7 comes to theater the week after that, a day before episode 21 airs on TV.
The film I think will be in theaters for two weeks and thus be out of theaters the day episode 23 airs on TV.
