Yes. They had to meet a deadline, and were only able to cut a 70-second version in time. The Tweet requests, "Please wait a little longer for the full-length PV."

Spoiler for The True Facts on the Assassination of Dessler:
That's great, that means an even bigger trailer will be coming... OMG, i don't think i'll survive it. XD This is gearing up to be the best chapter so far, not just because of all the action that seems to be coming, but because of all the new stuff. I mean, the previous 2 chapters (especially 4) were already quite different from the original, but the whole Beeland/Akerian civilization angle is quite good.

Swapping Yamato and Dommel's paint is a little closer than I like to be with battleship on battleship duels. I mean in a table top game I once charged Yamato with an Iowa-class battleship (because my main guns were out due to magazine flooding and electrical failures, his rudder was limited to a 10 degree turn, and his aft batteries were out of action.) The fastest way out of his fire was to go past him rather than attempt to run away with 18 inch shells falling on my the entire time as I'd lost enough speed that it would take hours to flee under fire. I got somewhere between a kilometer and a mile away before the slowed and burning Iowa-class battleship sank. All the while the tiny 5 inch guns peppered Yamato about as effectively as Gamilas weapons fire (I was hoping for a critical hit that might break something else on Yamato and allow me to escape).

But even then, I wasn't as close as Shima is driving that thing. Firing a shock cannon at basically two meters distance.

A picture I found on pixiv today (12 hours is not enough time for the fan artists to make stuff from the preview): A Yamato as if it was built without a wave motion engine. It actually has the wing secondary turrets Yamato was built with in 1941, but were removed during the war to add many more AA batteries.

I like the shot of Yuki giving the guilty looking Niimi an accusing eye.

I'm more interested in what they are saying, as I always feel I'm missing something that is obvious otherwise (it was like that for the Chapter 4 trailer when you could guess what was going to happen from what was said better then what was shown).

I'm fairly interested in what Shima and Gimleh are saying.

Also "Welcome to Beeland! Mind the ancient technology and the women eating giant insects. Enjoy your stay!"

Also: "Always bring a 'Red Shirt' (security) or two on away missions. Never let them all be on the ship at once when the main character is away or else they might mutiny out of boredom and spite for being 'Red Shirts'".

Wow, so Shima douches out on us by leading a mutiny? (or maybe being used as a figurehead/scapegoat for the mutiny by that fox-eyed guy whose name I can never remember. which would make him an even bigger douchebag) That guy has it a bit hard in this show between that gut-wrenching scene in episode 7 and finding out his dad may have pulled the trigger that made the mess earth is in.

Still, multiple Brightslaps are in order. Or punches, preferrably. Maybe some kicks.

But the way Shima says "we are cancelling the Yamato Project, with its low chance of success," sounds like their goal is to carry out the Izumo project mentioned in earlier episodes whose goal was to evacuate the earth instead of save it. Which means there's a chance Niimi is involved in the mutiny as well, which further makes me wonder how long this mutiny has been in planning since it seemed to me like Niimi never gave up on the Izumo Project in the first place.

And yeah, no chance they're killing Dessler. Spoilers from the old manga material or not, we all know he won't die, at least not before the climax of the series. A guy like Dessler is easily savvy enough to have a body double ready to take the figurative (or literal) bullet for him. And then he'll come back, and OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!

And holy crap, Harlock got his appearance in the manga that we missed out on in the original anime?! I gotta find this manga......

Shima's file is seen in Niimi's computer in episode 12 after Yabu leaves. I'm guessing he blabbed to her about what he had just heard in the engine room, when Yamazaki and Tokugawa were talking about Daigo's actions and Shima's denial to the truth. Being ship's councelor, she has a certain degree of influence over people. We know the rebelion will be defused, of course. But the major question will be, how can the rest of the crew trust these people again? How can Okita trust a security chief that pulls this crap? How can Sanada trust Niimi again? And how will Tokugawa accept Yabu back in the engine room? In the original they didn't have to deal with this, since Yabu and the others that followed him were all killed by the Iscandar-quake. But here... They are either left behind on Beemera or, if they continue on board, will become parias which, in Ito's case (along with whatever security guards follow him) pretty much means he'll be out of a job.

Since Shima is the ship's navigator and I suppose the realist of the main group, if Yamato gets to the point were she can't realistically get to Iscandar and back in one year no matter how risk taking the warping might be, Shima's the one that will know. He may have not motive other than realism.

If Yamato takes so much damage that she can't functionally warp often enough, or far enough to make it there and back again, the mission is a failure. With Izumo Plan they at least have the chance to save the human race from extinction via colonizing another planet. Though they might still be able to limp back to Earth to pickup more humans for the colony, since they aren't to the halfway point of Balun yet. Yamato probably can be fitted out quickly with sleeper tubes and packed with survivors for one or more runs back and forth from Earth to Beeland (assuming the Gamilas leave them alone) to start at least a small human settlement before it is too late.

It is a logical thing to do. Just not the right thing to do. But when you can't be certain the ship can making to Iscandar, much less make it back you go with what you know should work. Especially if they still think the Gamilas live in the Milky Way, which might be a shattered illusion when they run into Dommel's fleet which is far larger than anything they have encountered before.

Though I wonder about certain people's motives. Ito's specifically. He's seems to have been up to something the whole time. Setting people against each other and keeping tabs on everyone. Including the Captain. Niimi has been as well, but we can see her motives in terms of logic as her thing seems to have been colonization as a plan. Though given who she called on Earth, there could be another motive that they are hiding from us. We know the general does not like Okita.

I'm not sure who will live through this one.

Though there is a hint of the orignal run in the Chapter's title about homesickness. Though this time, instead of Aihara jumping ship we get a mutiny.

I don't know if this is intentional or not (I believe it is), but check out the biographies of the real life Niimi and Serizawa.

I don't think that the Captain has any qualms about executing Niimi and Ito.

He might just leave them behind. Plan B. If Yamato fails there will still be some human survivors. But you have one very real problem. Shima. We know Shima is going to stay on Yamato. So what does that mean for everyone else?

Will there be any deaths from the mutiny? Will everyone got back to work now that they might have a chance that Yamato Plan will work? Will the Mutineers rise up again once they get to Iscandar if there is a chance they might not make it back to Earth in time? How many of the 999 crew will make it home?

Will Analyser fall for the goddess of the Yamato instead of Mori Yuki? Or is Mori Yuki the goddess of Yamato?

Maybe Shima is playing the double agent part, siding with the mutineers until the time is right and help the others... Just a thought that poped in my head.

Maybe. It depends on how they take over the ship. Okita and Sanada are the command structure onboard. Though I wonder sometimes about Niimi, Sanada, and Mamoru. I get the feeling there is something else unspoken going on there. I image it will come up in Chapter 5 as this would be the time during the original run that Sanada's backstory came out. And what of poor young Hoshina? He's listed as being very trusting of Ito, but he seems like a nice kid. Either he'll die in this Chapter, or maybe (maybe) they'll surprise us and make him the one security trooper that remains loyal to the Captain (earning him the title of head of security as its only member not in the doghouse afterwards). Roger Rambo thinks he's going to die and was made specifically to die in the most heart wrenching way possible.

As to what we see in the trailer. That is an aweful lot of Gamilas warships and fighters. Though I wonder about the scenes we see fighters, and there is focus on a single green fighter in multiple shots. Either it is a craft Yamato captured, a recon ship that lead Yamato into a trap, or it piloted by someone important on the Gamilas side of things (one of Dommel's senior officers...not Melda Deitz...her plane is red).

We see that Yamato's shield can take a pounding from both energy weapons and missiles. But it will not last forever as it was down by the time she decides to swap paint with Dommel's ship.

Analyser gets a new ride. Though I wonder why that specific group of people for the mission? Kodai to play the Seagull down and provide escort. Hirata to select plants and other things to restock the OMCS. I guess Yuria to track artifacts? And Analyser to do the heavy lifting. But one else? Two lieutenants and a warrent officer with the ship's subframe? No enlisted folk (or did the native lifeforms get them already?)

Also Dessler and the coup. That will be interesting, though costly for the Empire since that means at least two of their large battleships will be destroyed before Yamato arrives at Iscandar (the blue one seen exploding in the trailer and Dommel's ship will likely be less than useful after Yamato finishes craving "I Love Starsha" into the side if it with the shock cannons). Also there is still the element of pilot Deitz that is unaccounted for. How long with Dessler be "dead"? Who will run the Empire while he is "dead"? And when will he come back, (he always comes back...its sort of a rule) and how dramatically will be make his entrance (he's good at those)?

------

Out of curiosity, is anyone working on subtitling this free trailer so those of us that don't understand Japanese might know for sure what is being said? Just the trailer...the show itself is already subtitled from Bandai Visual, but the BD extras are not (including the trailers). We are getting bits and pieces, but last time something didn't come out until the episodes came out that would have been easy to spot if we knew what they said.

Just finished episode 11 and this remake does not disappoint.
It still has me captivated.
Will be interesting to see if Melda will have a future role in the eventual relationship between Yamato and Garmillas (is that the spelling now? Or did they change it again?).

I was watching Vol 4 again. Seriously cannot wait till Vol 5. The Space combat in that one will probably be pretty brutal. I have been waiting for some serious ship to ship fleet action. From the preview if Yamato did not have wavemotion shields, it would surely have been destroyed. A point blank shock cannon shot to Dromels flag ship (or one of this flagships?) as shown should easily take it out. From what we have seen it does not appear any Garmillas ships have shields. Maybe a light beam coating as what was seen in the first ep? Obviously not enough against the Shock Cannons much less the Kinetic shells.

With 12 more eps to go, it amazes me if they can cover all the story fronts implied or presented. But with the way the writing has been for these last 14, I think they should be able to pull off a really nice finish.
