Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Detective Conan are all racing to see who can reach the highest episodes. Whoever lacks behind instantly loses, throwing a filler so you can wait for the manga to catch up is an excellent strategy.

![]() back to topic depending on anime type (episodic or continuity) advantage of episodic anime when animated long run is that you can use older episode just to fill time while continuity one even they more interesting to follow new episode they feel something lacking when you watch only 2-3 episode of them since most of them divided in 10 ep arc

Well, if the animators were willing to do as much of the research as Akametsu did, it would had been. Who knows, it would had filler arcs that would annoy fans and plenty of animated fights. I don't like Negima but I admit that it deserves better than what it had.

4cours (50 or so eps) are actually not all that long for an anime. Trying to find something like Full Metal Alchemist into anything less would be awful, and ruin the good story. As for long running ones like Dragon Ball, the current big 3 and the timeless "classics" like Doraemon, I don't mind as long as the story is good. For example, Bleach was enjoyable until ss arc finished, and I proceeded to drop it after the terrible follow-up filler arc. Naruto was dropped soon after launch because I could not stand the characters, One Piece ended up as the one I followed till about a year ago. Yes it was ADD at times, but the adventure was well-done and the excitement was always there. I only dropped it because I started running out of time to do other stuff.

All I know is, I'll never tire of One Piece =))
I have to agree with Detective conan though, that series is taking too damn long. It's just being dragged already. I want to see Kudo return to his old self for good DX |
