Erm I believe that's the point?

This is a series mostly for mecha fans and techno-military otakus anyway.

I like Zashiki better, honestly.
Also, I can't believe you didn't notice all the Checkov's Guns Kamachi-sensei throw at us in the earlier chapter that he end up using in the last chapter of each volume. That's the best part of the series IMO, seeing all the mess the baka-duo cause in earlier chapter end up biting their own ass in the last chapter of the story

When Heavy Object first started Kamachi did admit that this was more like a side project hence the short stories feel to it.

That said, I think Kamachi's intention was to present as a sort of puzzle challenge to the readers to see if they could think up of more way to defeat Objects.

Is that a bad thing? Cowboy bepop was mostly a compilation of short stories as well.

Well, some of them were predictable indeed.

I guess so. Never said I hate it though, just felt like it rushed. Other people might like it, but I guess it's just a difference in preference.

It's not bad, it just felt rushed. Since they said Object is the ultimate destroyer etc etc, it got destroyed fairly easy, although it was a good thing they did it reasonably.

Well, it might just like what Chaos2Frozen said, since it's a side project of Kamachi, he might do it like that deliberately.

Hmm, never read or watch cowboy bepop, so I'm not sure what to respond.

I wasn't sure what Checkov's Gun was until I googled it. I did notice, lol. Well, that's true. It was funny on how they get scolded at the end.

So I got the 3rd volume of the Heavy Object S manga and...

... They decided to romanize Heivia's and Qwenser's name as...

Qwenthur Barbotage
Havia Winchell

...

... Kamachi...

Some interesting stuff from the manga, from yours truly:

Now we know what the cast of the Index and Railgun worlds do when nothing is happening in their series.

P-Princess... you're so bold...

Personally, I enjoy heavy object more than his other series, index included. The characters in his other series tend to have these long, wordy speeches. A lot of the time, they are vulgar and pretentious (especially as the index series continues to go on). In heavy object though, He via and Qwenser get into trouble and have to solve it by blowing up a huge object and the pretentious dialogue feels toned down.

You don't like having your self inserts as vulgar and pretentious?
