I also love on how the anime has skipped some explanations in it's 2nd half. Like why would Michiru be placed to spy on Oojima before he was even a candidate for the elections? It's clear that she was a member of the shokken before the elections even started.

I would completely trust Satsuki over that headcase any day.

I know the pairing wars are strong in here and it leads to people not seeing clearly, but think about this without your bias for a moment. That girl is crazy! Her issues need to be address with professional help or else she can't move on and live a normal life.

Since Day -0, he never had a chance too. His frustration was real and potent. If he isn't careful, he just might go crazy himself and do something irrational. Shipping wars or not. I'm sorry, but that's not a healthy relationship for anyone to be in. I don't wish that situation on anybody. Put yourself in his shoes and you can feel dat oppression.

Time to pull out your trusty jet pack, Yuuki! Fly to freedom! If you need to know where that is, play some shogi.

Well... after watching the latest episode, I don't know who or what is crazier: Chisato, Oojima, or this entire school!

This anime has certainly taken a darker turn in this latest episode.

Chisato and Oojima are both in need of serious professional help (her more than him, but he's had to put up with this madness since young childhood, and he definitely seems to be cracking a bit from it).

Oojima going from crazy, obsessive "girlfriend" to being knocked out and interrogated by the very people that are trying to get him elected - This show has all of a sudden started to make me think of a great Hollywood psychological thriller!

Maybe we should call this show "The Chocolate Matrix", and have the President address Oojima as "Mr. Anderson" for dramatic effect!

Seriously, this school now seems to be a training ground for the CIA, lol.

Honestly, that was a very fun watch, just due to how hilariously over-the-top it all was. But yeah, I definitely don't want to see an Oojima/Chisato end now. Let's go Satsuki! - Only you can save Oojima now! Otherwise, he might get stuck with Psychodere or the CIA Spy!

Sorry but what exactly are trying to say with this? I mean, the only thing I can interpret is that you are basically saying that Satsuki is actually some kind of evil bitch that just approached Yuuki to break him before the elections D= or my english is waaaaaaay worse than I thought it is.

Chisato is seriously having a Yuuki crisis.
Looks like that car accident really gave her a scare.
Those two seem to have a long term relationship with a strong bond.
Yuuki getting a ban of talking about financial aid students in his manifesto.
That was just strange, but I do get the former President's point on this one.
Yuuki would probably lose a lot of votes if he addressed that matter during his campaign.
The former President is sure full of all kinds of interesting secrets!

This was what I got from the episode not simply a replacement but also a way to ease her guilt from the trauma at such a young age. The chocolate ritual I feel highlights this the best. She needed someone to eat the chocolate that she did not want to share with Daiki. To be fair, as a child I think its understandable to need to find a way to runaway from the guilt, and as a kid under the pressure of having killed her own brother it is for me understandable.

In real life, counseling would probably be need to help Chisato but since this is anime, a magical fixing is probably the most likely thing we will get something about her true love for Yuuki coming before her need for relieving her guilt and maybe a Chisato/Satsuki end.

BTW from a marketing strategy for the PSP game, I can see them going for a Chisato end while making Sastuki more favourable in order to encourage viewers to play the game to see the Satsuki end. Of course this also works vice versa.

Where are the parents? How can you let this issues to go on for so long unchecked and you need to be very ignorant not to notice that?

My problem with Chisato is not having her those psychological problems but i don't want to see the feeling of guilt and selfsacrifice as basis for relathionship, not with teenagers. It makes look their partnership as very one-sided. So yeah, I rather see him with Satsuki where he can be himself without feeling of obligation.

That is not our typical harem that is for sure.

Well, this is the very episode where my opinion of Chisato took a huge nose dive into oblivion. Thankfully, Oojima is the sort of Protagonist who can spot a Yandere. And seriously, that scene in the bathroom was full of Yandere. For a moment, I thought I was watching Higarushi here. I agree. This is far from your typical Harem, it has not been since Kana got run down in Episode 1. No, is this even Harem?

I would also agree with you. Satsuki and Oojima have a more healthy relationship as equal partners. At this stage, Chisato just comes over as an extremely needy girl over a competent mask. I do think Oojima is aware of that dynamic.

As for the second half of the episode- now, this is what Chocolate should have been about. I welcome a sequel with Oojima as President with open arms, since this issues probably are going to take center stage.

I really DON'T think that this anime would end with a choice. It will end with Oojima elected, but an ambiguous end romantically. And you know what? I'd say that that IS the right choice. In-fact, any ambiguous Romantic end with Chisato still in the friendzone means a highly possibly implied Satsuki victory.

I think the reason the parents can't see the problem is because well Yuuki does a good job at keeping her trauma underneath so its harder to spot. And parents in anime are relatively rare.

I think that that is one of the major hurdles and plot points of the relationship between Chisato and Yuuki (in the VN), if they can cross the one-sided relationship and guilt and put the past behind, it might become a good relationship. No pain no gain, as the saying goes.

That is exactly my problem. Didn't Yuuki put with it long enough? Chisato has good 10 years of repercussions to pay. What can she give him in return? Genuine love as any other girl can. Just because he understands her and shoulders her pain I must question the intergrity of her attraction to him in the light of latest episode.

I think that a lot of people are confusing whether they like or dislike a character with whether a pairing involving that character is sensible or not.

I'm still rooting for a Chisato end and I see nothing from the story so far that would derail from it.

The reason I hate the idea of the relationship is because it's plain not healthy. Chisato has a disorder. She gives chocolate to Oojima out of the guilt of not giving her brother chocolate because she must feel that caused her brother's death. She's using him as a stand in for her brother. I'm sorry but that's just plain not normal. Worse, Oojima has put up with it for like a decade!?. I don't believe they could convince me in the span of a couple episodes now that Oojima could believe their relationship is normal and that they get together. Just no.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Could you please elaborate? What I get from your quote is that an unsensible pairing is fine, and that logic is not necessary.

Could you mean that history and emotional bonds are more important than what people would normally consider a healthy relationship?

I won't get into the debate whether Yuuki should be with Chisato or not, but I will give my opinion on how I feel about the situation their relationship is in.

Speaking from personal experience, I know what it's like to have someone emotionally dependent on you. On paper it might sound like a good thing but in reality it's extremely stressful. Skipping all the details, I would like to give a list on the possibilities that Yuuki is feeling based on what I felt from my own experience.

- This person is emotionally dependent on me, I must stay to keep this person stable.
- Trying to leave this person causes a great deal of distress in that person, therefore I can't leave. Each time I try to move on with my life, that person becomes a threat to themselves.
- I say and feel things I don't really want to due to the massive stress buildup and anxiety. (the stress is obvious, the anxiety is the desire to progress the lovers relationship without feeling obligated to be a huge emotional support).

I'm not sure if I'm getting my point across, this happened years ago. But anyways... I don't feel it's impossible for Yuuki and Chisato to be together, especially when I compare it to my own experiences. Like I've said in an earlier post, I don't mind anime version Chisato as much when compared to her game version. Sure there was a ton of screen time and development between Satsuki x Yuuki, but the deep connection is no where near the Chisato x Yuuki pairing. Only because of this deep connection, and the lack of Satsuki interacting with Yuuki, I feel the anime is going for Chisato ending.

Blargh.

They put the whole Election element right at the back for this weird character drama stuff. Did not like this episode one bit.

It the romance show not the show about politics )

I really dislike Chisato even more. She started to remind anime-version of Kaede in Shuffle...

Just watched last episode, everything is clear now. And next two hints about Yuuki real feelings (resent look in his eyes when he was talking about being just replacement and wanting to be more for Chisato and discuss with Michiro when he said that Chisato problem is half of reason him being sad- another half is easy to quess). I cant understand all that rage. Its obvious that Yuuki cant be in relationship with Chisato or any other girl without Chisato overcoming her trauma. But its anime, its obvious that it will be resolved in the end. And Chisato have romantic feelings for Yuuki, but its under her personal trauma, thats why without overcoming it her winning in love triagle is impossible too.

No pain no gain. Hehe. I do agree that currently the relationship between Chisato and Yuuki isn't healthy. However I do believe that if their problems and trauma are solved, their relationship could be a really good one. The way Yuuki acted and the looks in his eyes just seems to indicate he does want to be with her but not as Daiki but as Oojima Yuuki.

"Chisato problem is half of reason him being sad"
Pretty much this. That should indicate how he's feeling about their relationship. Which reinforce what I am thinking earlier. In his current role as Daiki, he does not love her romantically. However as Oojima Yuuki, he might actually have romantic feelings for her.

Of course I love Satsuki and she's my favorite but the relationship between her and Yuuki isn't as deep as Yuuki is with Chisato. They both went through a lot more and they both understand each other well. Besides Chisato wasn't like what she is in this episode earlier and it was only because Yuuki got into an accident went the trauma and guilt become full blown since the only person left who could ease her guilt and trauma over her brother now died the same exact way as her brother did which probably scared the hell out of her.

Spoiler for Chisato:
