Britain joins France in saying nerve gas used in Syria:

"The British Foreign Office found the presence of sarin gas in several samples
from Syria a day after the French government said there was 'no doubt' the
chemical weapon was used by Assad's forces."

A mobile phone retrieved from one of the killed rebels shows a video recording of rebels communicating in Russian, which once again proves the presence of islamic radical groups from russia's northen caucasus within the ranks of the "free" army: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT_WSlInebw
(Russian speech starts at 1:44)

Note: those exact same groups which participated in the two Chechen wars, fighting for "independence"

Year, you can found more of those at ru_chp livejournal community. Like this one: http://ru-chp.livejournal.com/3813486.html

That's one of the reasons we support Assad. The more of those monkeys die there - the less work for our guys here.

Not a wonder why US doesn't want to step in just yet. Apparently the Russians are indirectly doing a favour for the US of A by blasting radical Islamists to bits.

Seems like this war took an unpleasant turn where small interest groups suddenly grew big enough to (dis)incentivise both sides' participation.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

I could be wrong but wasn't it like this to begin with? It took time for such to become evident to western media (not surprised here.) but we've seen Al Qaeda flags in Syria nearly since the beginning of the conflict. As for your statement regarding favours, can't be entirely sure.

Let's not forget about the infamous Operation Cyclone. Excerpt:
Quote:
Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency program to arm and finance the Afghan mujahideen prior to and during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, 1979 to 1989. The program leaned heavily towards supporting militant Islamic groups that were favored by neighboring Pakistan, rather than other, less ideological Afghan resistance groups that had also been fighting the Marxist-oriented Democratic Republic of Afghanistan regime since before the Soviet intervention. Operation Cyclone was one of the longest and most expensive covert CIA operations ever undertaken; funding began with $2030 million per year in 1980 and rose to $630 million per year in 1987.
Similar operations were not unique to the late Soviet era, but also took place later in history during the Chechen war, when radical islamist groups were branded "freedom fighters" all across western media. (and still were until the recent Boston bombing incident. Thereupon such opinion became controversial.)

What makes you think US's mentality suddenly changed in regard to destabilising northern caucasus and its neighbouring regions through the help of radical islamism, if many of the Syrian so called "rebels" are or are affiliated with the Chechen militants, and aren't afraid to tell us about it either:

(repost: writings on walls in ruins of Syrian cities left by Chechen militants, with statements the likes of "today Syria, tomorrow Russia", "Chechnya will prevail", and so forth)

That would be the equivalent of throwing oil on fire if Russian troops are in that particular area.

All I can say about this conflict, however, is that the almost certain use of chemical weapons by Assad (on which reports stating 'positive' as the answer keep pouring in) was nothing short of a very poor decision if he wanted to make his point valid about the threat of radical Muslims among the resistance groups if any.

So in the end

-Russia is supporting a dictator because it is an ally.

-China is supporting a dictator as a matter of principle.

-America is supporting terrorists because Republicans need an issue to make Obama look weak on foreign policy.

-Europe try to support whats left of the moderate of the so called "free Syrian army" because it want to look like it is still relevant in world affairs.

-Israel just love to :Bomb:

Did I miss anything?

For a person in finance, you are certainly silly enough not to see :

- Defence contractors/manufacturers make a crapload of money out of portable/mobile equipment. Think S300. Think MANPADS. Think IR-fired IEDs (where the IR receiver has to be weather-proof). Think of the MASSIVE amount of money CBRE contractors can make from JUST SELLING DISPOSABLE/COLLAPSIBLE GAS MASKS!

That's new. Sounds like I can forget about the scenario of Israel marching into Syria and biting off more than they could chew. Guess even the Hawks know there are limits.

They wouldn't make such an announcement like this unless they have something in mind, either covert arms supplying or other form of black ops.
