I'm think and hope that it is a 2-cour series. The reason is the ridiculous pacing it would have been if it really is only 12 episodes. Also with the new recent episode, it seems the other "plot" finally starts.

Turns out he/she wants to make both. First 10 episodes = lovely lovely bread, Next 10 = horrible horrible cliche fantasy setup?

So it really only have 12 episodes? Wow... so disappointed. It's like they're just trying to advertise the game but the game is from 2010 so I don't know. There's also a lot of characters that never show up either. Uugh... so sad... Unless they have a second season or something, this is just frustrating since they could have done so much.

Fixed it for you. Bread is serious business!

As I said already, it's a bread commercial paid for by the Bakery Association of Japan, in order to get people to eat more bread. As making an anime about bread alone (first few episodes) turned out to be not so hot, they added a little bit of random fantasy elements to make it somewhat more interesting.

It's funny how badly the writing for thhe show is and yet I can somehow enjoy it anyway.

Prince: "A Giant Death Ship is approaching this island and is about to kill us all. Will you please help us?

Rick: "Fuck you, I wanna make bread"

That's some great priority list you've got their Rick...

The scene transitioning was weird as hell too. It felt cluncky as hell and wasn't very smooth.

And did anyone else think the girls were kinda scary when they told Rick to fight? Especially when they talked in unison...

And then all of a sudden Rick goes Super Saiyan. But not before he eats the girls' bread. Because you know, when you're about to go off into a battle that could take your life, it's important that you eat your bread beforehand...

Yeah, I facepalmed a bit there too.

Although, to be fair, I partially blame the three girls for constantly guilt-tripping Rick about him being a warrior instead of a baker (the yellow-haired one in particular has really laid the guilt-trip on thick on Rick). If I was in Rick's shoes, I wouldn't be keen on letting those three girls down either!

At least Rick eventually made the right decision, imo. And I like how unlike some anime action heroes, he's a very competent and courageous combatant right off the bat. I honestly find that refreshing for a change.

The first bit of the 2nd half of the episode was like that yeah. It was genuinely weird in parts. I think I get what they were aiming for, but it was overly trippy and clunky for a straightforward show like this one. This isn't NGE, after all.

Maybe bread is to Rick what spinach is to Popeye.


Anyway, I enjoyed Episode 11 myself, even with all its flaws. It was fun. The Machine-Doll vividly reminds me of a major character from an old mid-90s anime that's an old favorite of mine, so that's nice.

Just watched nine and ten. Nine was stellar. Damn those girls a fine. I'll accept them into my harem, that's for sure.

I liked how ten ramped up things, the drama was brought up nicely.

And of course, the visuals and animation are wondrous.
