I'm surprised Largan took down a UE.

He was never a bad pilot. Just a good pilot in a bad mobile suit,

Good to see though that they are at least upgrading their arsenal to make their weapons more useful against the UE with the new Beam rifle for the Genoace and it seems the other suits will get them as well. At least they wouldn't be useless.

Now armed with the mini-DODS rifle, the only thing the grunts need now is dodging skill.

Maybe Mr. Mardonner can upscale the DODS gun tech to the rest of Grodek's fleet, considering how ineffective their main armament against the UE "escort" carriers. Ofcourse, Diva is getting a more powerful, chapter ending gun.

I liked the precog slomo shot...That was visually cool, but that's about all I liked...

Won't get too deep, it was just another poor episode, which is not only what I expect, but really is what the core of this show is...Absurd pacing, bland musical score, lack of intensity considering the moment, no foundation for establishing anything let alone the Federations' out-of-the-a$$ blockade or the UE's sudden attack, or Desil's warlocks kidnapping the XOXO-Rounder named Yurin...

This is one of the worst written shows I have ever watched thusfar...Not just in Gundam but in general anime...I don't know what else I can say, I have no clue what pre-production talks a writing staff had to have to ignore so many basic principles of storytelling.. I may be more judgmental on this since writing is something I do for a living, so I'll take that charge, but I have watched a cornucopia of "kid's shows" that operate on a ridiculously higher level than AGE...Something as pedestrian as Shaman King is streets ahead of where AGE will ever get...

I'm just kind of shocked people would sit in a room, and come up with this as a show, and feel like they are doing a sound job in-terms of executing a plot where enemies, and friends, and characters' just pop out of the ether and are suddenly "apart of the plot of the show"...If only the Diva's K-mart Blue-Plate-special sound alarm was the only problem...

Next episode, out of the never-ending woodworx of the writers minds, becomes the epic final battle, for what exactly i don't know..Oh revenge...

Interesting observation, casval - at least we know now the grunt suits actually have the capability to fight back.

I'm pretty sure most of us thought that the people were worried the interior of the Diva getting damaged. But when the scene happened i kinda half expected the Diva's MS to open fire back, taking the EFF's Genoace by surprise. Perhaps even shield bashed the EFF's Genoace

Hit the nail in the head.

We're heading towards a final battle which apparently ends Flit's arc right? And there's still a bunch of lose ends and things that haven't been explained. That means we'll either get answers and a short, lame final battle or we'll get a battle and no answers....

OR, we'll get them in the second or third generations.

It was Woolf and Largan who were taken by surprise, so they weren't in any position to fire back before Flit could cause a distraction.

IMO Woolf/Largan could have fired at the EFF's Genoace which i think would have taken the EFF's pilot by surprise(reverse psychology).Even if the EFF's Genoace weren't taken by surprise. G-Exes and possibly Largan's Genoace could have tank the hit from the EFF's Genoace(if they can't , they're in no position to take on the UE head on) and surely got rid of the EFF's Genoace with a single hit. While its understandable that they were worried about the ship's interior, i'm pretty sure EFF's Genoace's pilot would have aimed for the MS rather than the ship's interior should Woolf and Largan fired/dashed at EFF's Genoaces.

EDIT: I'm not questioning their decision to not open fire since its understandable that they were worried about the ship. Its just that its kinda hilarious, considering that the situation wouldn't be that tense and 'dramatic' should Diva and their MS acted earlier.

Exactly. In fact I would be surprised if we get many answers considering the supposed scope of the series.

In some cases, the beams bounce off, which is still dangerous to the ship's interior. There's also a chance of it not hitting, which is still bad news to the ship.

Or the enemy could have aimed for their weapons, which explosion could damage the inside of the ship. There's also a chance of it not hitting, which is still bad news to the ship.

If I'm honest, I'm not sure if there is anything I want answered...

As it stands right now, I'd give anything for a kill-em-all conclusion for Flit's arc (at least then we never have to see any of them ever again), but sadly that's not going to happen.

Sigh- was watching some previous "kid's shows" yesterday night, shocked me into remembering how incredibly superior they were. Also made me think that I'm softening up and becoming more willing to overlook the many flaws the show has for the sake of the show- that's just wrong.
Then again, I can't shake the feeling that Age is being produced with extremely low budget- why else hire this group of nobodies that will never amount to anything to do the show, when you've previously had accomplished or talented staff?

It's about time the show started living up to this potential that everyone (including myself) is clinging to. Despite some good parts, they can't expect people to stick around in the hope things might pick up forever

I mean, it's even hard to come up with things to discuss about what happened in the episode, because it's bland.
Also, X Rounder, fufufu

This show hasn't shied away from killing people and, *gasp*, showing blood and people suffering as they die.

I'd be surprised if most of the central cast lived through this. We know Flit will survive and (by proxy of his son being born) his wife whoever that may turn out to be (probably Emily as Yurin has been waving the flags of the Titanic). Grodek is not living through this one way or another (or I'll be very surprised if he does), he's a fugitive that will be court-martialled if caught or he's going to die on his nigh-fanatical crusade. Woolf has the flags flying high. Largan is just asking to go in a blaze of glory. (Though, I'd say that one of them will die and the other survive.) Bridge Bunnies are a toss up though the central bridge bunnies are probably 50/50. Adams seems to be on his way to going to down with his captain, while the girl is more likely to survive. All or most of Euba and Zalaam are probably going to die, and the Enact (rainbow headed dude) is probably going to go down like Boyage.

If I'm right, we're looking at a handful of survivors.

I bet Yurin will die from fighting with Flit and someone in you or me will drop to watching it. If Emily die, It should be counted in ED trolling.

You do know that even if Woolf/Largan can shoot them they won't do that easily right?
( They are their comrade which mean that they will try not to kill them )

They are trying to do too much in a 50 episode show. 3 generations? I feel that 3 25 episode seasons would be a far more effective medium through which to portray this type of story...

And apparently you're just stuck watching it so enjoy.

As for me (Note: this part is not directed at you wingdarkness) episode was solid as usual and I'm kind of expecting a twist or two coming out of the ever approaching "final battle". I don't think they could possibly be foreshadowing a death for Yurin anymore at this point, which is starting to make me think it might actually be a red herring. I'm actually starting to wonder now if we might see her in the second arc somehow only in possibly very different role. Curious, I'm starting to see a lot of potential things to look forward to in the second generation that they seem to be setting up already.

Gee, I wonder why that factor hadn't been considered. Seems like a blindingly obvious possibility to me (similar to how people were freaking the freak about the Genoace not getting a Dodds rifle and how I said wait and see and then of course it happened this episode), but you know....this show and people right? To be honest I've kind of seen the things that they don't seem to be tying up immediately as things that are going to potentially be a major part of the 2nd and 3rd generations, but then again I'm not looking for any and every opportunity to dump on the show so these musings about future possibilities tend to come easy to me. Seems like it's a similar situation for you.

In my experience patience often pays off when it comes to Gundam series. Honestly that goes for anything with 50 episodes though. You just need to have it if you are going to make that long-term a commitment and I've always argued you need to actually allow for things to develop over a long span of time as well. Expecting everything about a show to immediately hit it's mark (especially one that takes place over a long space of time both literally and conceptually) in the first 1/5 of a show is just really poor practice and will never EVER end in anything other than disappointment.

They are trying to do too much in a 50 episode show.....cause they are? Sorry I'm not following here, what point are you trying to make exactly and what exactly is this assumption being based on?

There's a sensor sweep sound? I seriously had no idea, but now I'm curious to go back to the episode and listen. Maybe it's my experience with Star Trek and Gundam in general, but honestly those things just sort of tend to fade into the background for me at this point as something I kind of expect to just be there.

He's saying that three generations of stories is too much for a 50 episode show...

I have to agree with that, there's just not enough time to develop a full cast, provide enough exposition and world building for each of the generations, as well as telling a plot with enough depth, especially with the storytelling style of the show's writers.

Its like we still barely know anything about the current gen, the characters, and where the plot is headed right now, and the gen is almost over already.

Yes, we'll find out more about that stuff in the next gen, but still, would have liked to see more depth to this gen in general.
