Breaking news from the little red dot!

It seems that the government are going to blow their ego-es dry soon. After deploying a couple of battalions and pissing off a few thousand NSFs (weekends burned just to find this asshole), this guy is finally caught after a year long chase.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

I was wondering who was going to be the fall guy for this fiasco.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/05082009...fly_168274.htm

The idea that the buck stops at this guy though is pretty laughable.

Something like this doesn't strike me as a high level issue that anyone really high up in the White House would be involved in planning or look carefully at the details. I mean it was a photo shoot for the plane. Who exactly do you think would be behind something like this? Honestly I'd be suprised if even this guy was actually involved in this in any way other than approving it without fully reviewing it.

Anytime any of the two AirforceOne planes are in the sky that entails massive amounts of planning. The secret service in the case that one or more of the planes are not available has to go over contingency plans with the president and his staff in case any sort of emergency comes up they have to know at all times.

Yeah there's some serious CYA going on here. Ultimately I don't really think it's that big of a deal other than some of the stupidity involved in the implementation. The feigned outrage is somewhat annoying as well.

The guy who resigned? His job was to coordinate this kind of thing. Is there any reason you think someone else was doing his job for him? All they need to do is schedule the photo shoot at a time the other plane is availiable too. Once again though the failure here is that someone forgot to make a call to the mayor of NYC, and inform people of what's going on. That's a mistake that happens on a lower level. It's not like this is the first time there's been a photo shoot of airforce one over a national monument.

Burma's Suu Kyi in poor health
Quote:
Burma (May 9): Burma's detained opposition leader, Ms Aung San Suu Kyi, is suffering from low blood pressure and dehydration and is barely eating, her party spokesman told the BBC.

Mr Nyan Win said they were extremely worried about the 63-year-old Nobel Laureate's health. A medical assistant has placed Ms Suu Kyi on an intravenous drip. Her own doctor was reportedly detained after visiting her earlier this week.

Ms Suu Kyi She has been under almost permanent house arrest since 1990. It followed the victory of her National League for Democracy in a general election in 1990. The junta has refused to allow the party to assume power.

Her latest period of detention is due to expire at the end of this month but the authorities have not yet said if it will be extended.

She had suffered a loss of appetite and had gone three to four days without eating. As a result, her blood pressure had dropped and she was showing symptoms of dehydration, said Mr Nyan Win.

He said the party was closely monitoring the situation, and would decide next week whether to press for greater medical treatment for Ms Suu Kyi.

They ran on intelligence provided by the Interpol. And don't listen to the news reports, the ISA just wants to take all the credit.

Will Woodstock return on its 40th anniversary?
Quote:
New York (May 8): Mr Michael Lang and Mr Joel Rosenman were two of the producers of the original Woodstock festival 40 summers ago. Lately, they have been trying to pull together an anniversary concert this year; they really have, but you have to understand, man, it's complex.

Part of the problem is that they have a few disagreements.

"The first conversation we had about Woodstock for this year was probably nine years ago," Mr Rosenman said last week.

"We started thinking about it about a year ago," Mr Lang said in a separate interview.

Dozens of projects are planned to commemorate the August 1969 concert, including an Ang Lee movie called Taking Woodstock, a Heroes of Woodstock concert tour (with Jefferson Starship and Melanie) and at least 13 books, including one for children co-authored by a second cousin of Mr Max Yasgur, the farmer who lent his land in Bethel, New York, for the original event. Target is set to run a Summer of Love promotion featuring licensed Woodstock merchandise, like beach towels with the symbolic white dove perched on a guitar neck.

But Mr Lang, 64, and Mr Rosenman, 66 — who, with the family of another original partner, control Woodstock Ventures, which owns the trademarks — have so far failed to deliver a solid plan to commemorate their own historic achievement.

Some obstacles are rooted in the personal and philosophical differences between Mr Lang and Mr Rosenman that date back four decades.

"Joel is a much more bottom-line-oriented person," said Mr Lang, wearing a dark blue T-shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes in his offices in a loft in Chelsea. "I'm more of an intuitive person, a loose thinker." In any case, he wants a Woodstock concert this year because "Woodstock is relevant on the anniversaries".

Mr Rosenman is not in such a rush. "If it's not the best lineup and the best setting and the right feeling about the community that develops," he said, "We shouldn't have that event."

At the moment, the two partners' most tangible project is Woodstock.com, a website scheduled to go up next month.

"The word 'Woodstock' means something — it's hard to pin down sometimes," Mr Rosenman said. "We're brainstorming about how to take something that was kind of a beacon to the world about counterculture and music and community in 1969 and transforming it into a 21st century phenomenon that has an Internet platform instead of a live one."

Meanwhile, Mr Lang has not given up hope that he can pull off another last-minute event. He said they were speaking with a potential sponsor and city officials for a free concert in Prospect Park in autumn. "We would have 150,000 ticketed and an overflow area for 150,000 more with video screens," he said, speaking more animatedly when the logistics of a show were being discussed than he was when the subject was finding sponsors and working out issues with Mr Rosenman.

"It would be noon to 11pm, eight to 10 bands on the main stage,” Mr Lang continued. "On-site solar and wind power; biodiesel for generators; organic and local produce; recycled paper goods. We'd like to give away one-day free passes on city transit with a ticket."

The Long Wait Has Finally Ended..

DPJ leader Ozawa to resign amid fundraising scandal

The new stage is now set.

I have waited a few months to see the outcome. I am so excited..

Ozawa has decided to resign and his right-hand man, Hatoyama-san is also going to step down as a means of loyalty to Ozawa. Pitiful.. I actually like these two as leaders of DPJ but if they don't step down, the new stage will never come..

Hopefully, Okada Katsuya will be elected as new leader of DPJ.

That way..

It will be clear as to how percent of people supports China and how many who doesn't.

Under the leadership of Okada, the general election will be Taro Aso (Japan) vs Katsuya Okada (China)!

Who will win? Who will become the new prime minister of Japan? What fate is that of Japan?

I am really interested to know..

Taro Aso lacks leadership and is not good at those economic stimulus packages but it has already become reality that there is not enough of time for anybody to replace him and take on the DPJ. And thus, Taro Aso must win this general election!!!

Yes, the healing continues. This is so lovely (read: vile), I can totally see both sides of the political isle are being pulled together under the messianic Obama and his bi-partisan approach to politics. I can feel the love, can't you guys?

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/336173.html

Of course most of you reading this will just say how I'm an idiot for criticizing Obama and that this is nothing. I'm not a huge Limbaugh fan, but this just isn't presidential I'm sorry. This guy is a joke of a leader. By the time this administration is over, his public relations gaffs are going to make Bush look like Winston friggen Churchill.

In other political news. Cheney made some pretty outrageous claims this weekend about our nations security under Obama. Personally I think he's just trying to improve his "legacy" as many believe he was the real man in charge during the Bush presidency. Apparently Joe Lieberman disagrees with Cheney....hrmm who you want to believe out of those two.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0509/22376.html

I'm leaning on Joe's side since he really is no friend of the left's right now, and unless he's trying desperately to get back in their favor, he doesn't really stand to gain by disagreeing with Cheney as far as political points go.

Not an idiot, just a bit petty. Obama's still new at this. I'm sure he'll have some real scandels eventually. Even Bushy didn't have anything major right away. You don't have to keep jumping at every little thing like his taste in humor or putting mustard on his burgers until Obama faces a real scandal. At this rate though, by the time it comes, no one on theright will have any credibilty left because of constant attacks on Obama for little stuff.

Also, let's not forget that the joke was only made possible by Limbaugh's remarks about wanting the country to fail. He'd rather see the country collapse to prove his political views correct than for the country to succeed and possibly acknowledge that some of his political views are wrong or at least not entirely correct.

Listen, I said before I'm not a big fan of Limbaugh, but I work construction for my dad's company a lot, I have to listen to the guy on the radio all the time. I heard that broadcast and that's not what he said. He said he wanted OBAMA to fail not the country. If you don't see the difference then I'm sorry you are not being rational. Rush Limbaugh from what I've heard is an admitted conservative that believes that what Obama represents (in his mind anyway) which is a far left socialist bladdy blah agenda, which he believes is bad for the country. He is payed to give his opinion on politics and in his opinion Obama is bad for the country so he wants him to fail. How does that in any way shape or form get construed into meaning he wants the country to fail? You are either purposely putting words in his mouth or you just didn't actually hear what he said. Either way....not very accurate.

I'm only arguing this because I've seen a lot of people on news shows (other than super rightwing fox) trying to use that argument, but I actually heard what Limbaugh said, and that ain't it.

Was sending the financial district of New York city into an absolute panic for the sake of a photo op not "real" enough for you? Peoples lives were actually effected by that you know? I'd say that's pretty real.

Anyway, on Winston, many people forgot that he was an imperialist at heart, and called Gandhi names. "Half naked fakir" was one of them, I believed. Some of his ideas, like the Gallipoli offensive or the return to the gold standard, were... I think you can read up on those for yourself.

Give it more time. After we get our hands on the currently classified memos and other stuff, we can then start to evaluate Bush. But I can tell you: His reputation would improve....or drop even lower.

That's great. Except that he said specificly that he wanted Obama's economic policies to fail unless he "adds reagan to his resumé". He flat out said he wants the economic situation to get worse unless it's fixed using policies that fit his belief system. As I said, it shows that Limbaugh cares more about his political views being right than the success of this country. Now I might be convinced by an argument that he wasn't thinking about what Obama's economic policies failing would mean for the country. I will not be convinced by claims that the liberal media elite are twisting his words. They aren't and I'm not either.

No, it wasn't. I'm talking about scandels like say selling F-14 parts to Iran then using the money from the sales to fund insurgents in South America, or using intelligence known to be outdated or outright false to build a case for invading another country. Now those are scandals, and scandals that got people killed too, I might add. Hell even screwing a fat, unattractive intern would be more scandalous. You know, stuff that actually might be considered wrong doing? Sorry, but the previous adminstrations have set the scandal bar pretty high. Don't worry though, Obama will eventually get something.

What?

Am I missing something here? Obama is the president, a leader of the U.S. If the president fails, in essence the country is failing. So by wishing Obama to fail, he is hoping for the country to fail.
