U.S. Repeals Propaganda Ban, Spreads Government-Made News to Americans:

"For decades, a so-called anti-propaganda law prevented the U.S. government's
mammoth broadcasting arm from delivering programming to American audiences. But
on July 2, that came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform
passed in January. The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of
government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption in a reform
initially criticized as a green light for U.S. domestic propaganda efforts. So what just
happened?"

So now Fox News can be officially licensed and sanctioned by the GOP, rather than being a mere puppet in the shadows?

Initially split Florida jury heard Zimmerman call for help
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/...96E0YE20130716
Quote:
Jurors in the trial of George Zimmerman were originally split whether the shooting of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin amounted to murder, but most agreed it was Zimmerman, not Martin, calling for help in the background of an emergency call, a juror told CNN.

Might be the same bunch that don't know which ocean that is 20 miles from where they live. Not knowing where Florida is and that its laws have no effect on Los Angeles. Nor that their riot likely does nothing.

From the shadows? Their bias was rather evident, at least to me.

I was going with shadows moreso because, before, they couldn't "officially" be recognized in any capacity as favoring one party. What was obviously happening was another story, obviously.

Who cares? The word is quite clear: zero weapons for North Korea. Trade food if you want, but no weapons.

Talk about fools, if not imbeciles, getting caught with their pants down for doing wrong business in these times.

The issue is that this is clearing smuggling. They tried to deceive Panama officials, and as such it doesn't matter how old the weapon parts are.

Lie, then get caught lying, is the one thing you can't weasel out of.

EDIT: News came out that Cuba sends their Soviet era weapons to NK for maintenance. So NK is making a living being one of the few nations left that have the capacity to repair and operate Soviet Era equipment? That's like being a VCR repairman. It certainly sounds true, and the sugar might even be the payment. Guess NK managed to find its own way of making ends meet after all. There are a lot of nations out there with Soviet Era weapons and no means of maintaining them. A nice niche market.

Spygate Lawsuit Accuses NSA of Unconstitutional ‘Dragnet Electronic Surveillance’:

"A broad coalition of groups supporting everything from religion, drugs, and digital
rights to guns and the environment sued the National Security Agency today,
demanding a federal judge immediately halt what they are calling an “unconstitutional
program of dragnet electronic surveillance” stemming from the government’s vast
collection of Americans’ phone-calling data."

I read this suit and the earlier one brought by the American Civil Liberties Union. The two suits cover similar ground, arguing that the wholesale collection of telephone calling patterns endangers the plaintiffs' constitutionally-protected role as advocates by creating a "chilling effect" on communications with whistleblowers, journalists, and other activists. The new EFF suit adds what we might call the "Anthony Kennedy" claim. They included a Fifth Amendment "due process" claim to those used in the ACLU suit that claimed the surveillance policy is unconstitutional on both First Amendment (freedom of speech and assembly) and Fourth Amendment ("unreasonable" searches and seizures) grounds. Kennedy's decision overturning Part III of the Defense of Marriage Act case relied heavily on Fifth Amendment due process arguments rather than the Fourteenth Amendment "equal-protection" issues observers thought would apply.

One other thing that differentiates the two suits is the name the attorneys came up with for the surveillance program itself. The ACLU called it, rather clumsily, the "Mass Call Tracking" (yes, always preceded by "the"), while the EFF and friends termed it the "Associational Tracking Program." I prefer the latter myself.

A Drone Fell From the Sky and Exploded Next to a Florida Highway:

"For the second time this month, a drone (this one presumed to be a QF 4) has come
spiraling out of the sky. The crash and subsequent explosion happened next to US 98
near Tyndall Air Force Base in—oh what a surprise—Florida."
