Cute happenings, slow pace, and then a possible bombshell at the end.

And such a great ED song. This show is intriguing; I expect things to unfold gradually.

From our view in the show, we have assumed that the world is currently controlled by the espers. However, what if this what not really the case? What if the espers are the ones currently being controlled by the normals, and this area is sort of a scientific reserve or "cage"?

Maybe all the tests and rules are used to determine who could be useful and obedient? If you are too weak, then you are useless. If you disobey the rules, then you are too dangerous to have around.

The biomechanical library minoshiro is something that is probably manmade and supposedly resistant to the espers. What if the copycat is also a biomechanical being that is used to regulate the espers, which, theoretically, are created by non-espers?

This show is so atmospheric, it's delightful. Not many television series can get the viewer so immersed in them so early through visuals and sound alone.

I'm also liking the characters, aside from the guy with curly hair, all of them seem to have relatively dense characterization, and their interactions are entertaining. There's this feel of subtlety on how these are handled, it gives the work a degree of class that is not present in too many anime.

Does make you wonder what exactly the state of the world is. Are the espers in charge and society has degraded or did the other side win and the espers are kept in these controlled areas? Certainly the existence of advanced storage devices like that library could make it go either way. If the espers won when could something like that have been made? Though if the non-espers won would they really leave walking libraries wandering around that could spoil the entire setup?

Well the next episode should have a ton of 'holy crap' moments for those kids. God knows where they might start with revealing information here. Lot of potential for the next one.

well...most likely those thing is an "artifact", remnant from last civilization we saw >500 years ago.. before emperor delight time... but most likely maintained by some method by someone/group or worse self maintained thx to maybe nano-machine...it may contain some real truth and technology that the "government " don't want other to know because this could lead to many undesirable result like it was used against them...which leading to conclusion normal human may still exist in this age even though a minority...thus most likely our team will be hunted and thus the story will begun from there...

Are the people watching episode three watching raws? If so, the usual spoiler rules should apply. The Crunchyroll release is three days away. Has this episode already aired in Japan and is available in subs? If so, and that's where the comments here came from, I guess I need to stay out of this thread until the CR version streams. I don't generally watch subs for shows licensed by CR.

This anime captures what kids are actually like so amazingly well.

The fact it does so against the backdrop of a rather strange future culture (which itself is presented in a way that's so easy to buy into in spite of how odd it is) is incredibly impressive.

Episodes just breeze by so fast too - When Rainbow Library Creature was about to spill the beans I thought we'd get to hear at least a couple minutes of that, but nope, it was cliffhanger time already. The fact the episodes breeze by so quickly just demonstrates how enjoyable these episodes are to watch.

This is indeed the best anime show of Fall 2012 so far, imo.

It's about time we finally got some exposition. With all due respect to atmosphere and characters building, I want to know what happened!

BTW, ugliest library ever.

The episodes always feel so short. That's proof of how good this anime is. This show knows how to pull you in. If it can manage to remain this fascinating all the way through, then we might just have the anime of the year.

The Saki/Shun in this episode was really beautiful and cute. Shun is a pretty smooth operator.

I enjoyed learning more about this eerie future world. Lots of bizarre creatures around in it, their sudden appearance apparently being a side effect of the growth of people with cantus. I was shocked to find out the minoshiro was actually a walking (living?) library interface. I was convinced this was just one of the many odd creatures populating this world, it never once occurred to me it could be a robot.

We're most likely going to find out everything about the past history next week. This will be the turning point for the protagonists. Will they be able to keep living carefreely after learning the truth? Will they even be allowed to keep living? If the elders find out about this, I'm pretty sure they're toast.

It's only three episodes and yet I'm totally enthralled. I was definitely shocked when that creature turned out to be an AI of the past. I wonder of the special cantus humans really have been quarantined or if this weird AI is a relic of the past. I'm dying to know. The dark undercurrents in this show continue to put me on the edge, even when the children are just enjoying themselves and their naturally adventurous spirit (which the show does extraordinarily well to portray btw)

This episode was mostly relaxing.
Enjoying the camping trip.
Although kids camping alone is kinda reckless.
They sure were having fun exploring.
The weird creature-like walking library was interesting.
Wonder what kinds of mysterious things they'll learn from it.

This is an interesting effect that seems to be many viewers' experience, mine included. Once again I thought "Mid-way endcatch already?" and the ep was actually over.

Easily the best show of the season for me. Not close.

What completely sells the show for me is that fact that, at least so far in the background, so many unsettling things occur that our modern society would be aghast at, yet none of these people bat an eyelash. It's as if nothing is even happening and no one even cares or is bothered to.

It's so unnerving that it's actually extremely engaging...

Well it looks like what I said before about hypnosis and brain washing is starting to come true with the way Saki brought up how she had the same felling when she was at the temple of "purification".

Well next episode looks to be when the kids finally realize everything they had been lead to believe was a complete lie and innocents is lost forever.

Also if series deserves it's own sub forum this one dose.
