Wien stopped an actual criminal. A pretty low-grade criminal, yeah, but still a real one. And in the process of stopping that criminal, he did have some pretty GAR moments (he took a couple hard hits like a total boss). That's a lot different than Yuuta beating up on some random classmate or somebody who's playing make-believe with him, imo.

That whole scene was something I couldn't really take all that seriously anyway so yeah. It really did just seem to me like they were pandering to the geek in all of us rather than something actually serious. I suppose the idea was that being geeky can be cool too but I wouldn't go as far to say that it's Gar.
But maybe it was the singing that ruined it...

When I think about it, I don't think I've seen too many explanations here about the origin of the idiosyncratic naming within the anime, both with respect to the title and the names. The answer is quite curious, and reflects on the nature of the anime. Tari Tari approximates to 'this and that' in English, and the episodes all have the convention of 'doing this and that' in their naming. I found that to be a rather curious, if not outright cool factor about Tari Tari

The anime is quite reflective of the title, depicting the characters doing a little of everything, ranging from music to horseback riding to being Super Sentais.

Um well... I finished the series earlier this evening. To be honest, coming from the tokusatsu fandom, I adored Wien. I absolutely loved everything he did and said, mostly because it was so passionate and inspired. But that's not to say I didn't like the other characters. I did enjoy Konatsu's mischievous (yet extremely persistent) personality to be a hoot, and each of the choir (and sometimes badminton) club did have something to bring to the table (even if Taichi kind of struggled finding to do something in the last part of the show, he still came through by roping others into helping with the festivities).

And based of PV pics, seems like a SoL/drama. PA Works building up a reputation for its anime original SoL/dramas . They seem to rotate between SoL/drama and a non-SoL/drama if you have a close look, though frankly their non-SoL/dramas aren't very good . But hey, at least they try unlike a certain studio that PA seems get a lot of flak for apparently "copying". Though I give credit to that studio since the show prior to what's airing now was excellent and I put it on par with Tari Tari.

Dextro, Julio C, Archon_Wing, and those who complimented me privately... Thanks for the kind words!
![]() I'm actually kind of shocked that this mash-up wasn't done sooner, and figured that if nobody else was going to do it, I might as well do the best I could with it. Especially since I've been missing this show, and Hyouka, a fair bit lately.
