PS4 sales surpass 7 million as of April 6th, software sales surpass 20.5 million as of April 13th.

Link with full PR.

Kinda amazing that they still sell a million per month.

other than that, more games please! my ps4 is starting to collect
a little bit of dust at the moment. :P

hopefully blizzard give a release date for Diablo 3 for the ps4 soon. and The Last of Us
coming out to ps4 soon as well; i haven't play that game before,
so i might give it a try when it comes out on the ps4.

There are those like me that are still waiting for something interesting to come out before picking up a ps4. Only a matter of time.

For me as a SONY whore, even I think the lineup is very weak right and for the foreseeable future.

That said, I probably will pick up a PS4 in a few weeks, grab AC IV, play that, get Watchdogs, and live on those campaigns until more stuff comes out.

If you have a great gaming PC, then just hold off until you see a couple of exclusives that you would love to play. A lot of stuff that is coming out for it so far is available on PC as well.

Can someone care to explain what this means and if it good thing or bad thing for the company. Cause I'm some what confused on the subject. Or maybe I'm not seeing what I'm suppose to see from the lack of sleep.

I just going to bring this here from NeoGaf:

Quote:
From what I remember, Sony made an equity investment in square around the time spirits within tanked; it was almost a good will gesture to help the company raise some additional capital when they needed it. I believe the shares were nonvoting. That is important. After the se merger, sony's ownership position was diluted and remained functionally irrelevant (since it was nonvoting).
[edit]

Wow.

Titanfall tops chart, but PS4 leads hardware again in March - NPD

Just Kaz Hirai cutting risk in the company. 47 million isn't a lot as a whole for Sony Corporation but the risk that comes with holding share in Square Enix (which isn't that profitable to begin with) is far more than it's worth.

I dont think anyone should worry about the PS brand for the time being as it's being outperforming expectation and quite frankly, it's the one of the few product that's been keeping Sony's consumer electronic afloat. Eventhough it's not one of the prime money maker ( I believe Sony's insurance division is the strongest ), it serve as a distribution platform for other Sony product like Sony Music, Sony Picture and etc.

PlayStation 4 AR Technology

Sony has been researching AR technology for a long time, they release a few demo videos from time to time to show how far along they have come. This is the PS4 AR demo they released today.

1. PS4 AR Fluid Simulation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTBWUZSKqgQ

2. PS4 Dynamic Lighting
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olx8XKV-P2g

3. PS4 Trading Card Recognition
Quote:
Using the PS4 "trading card recognition" is a technology demonstration that recognizes high-speed pattern of trading card, to display and play music and characters named after the card. I propose a form of card games in the future as expressed in the comics and animation.

I want a Yu-Gi-Oh AR game now...

Have to say a Yu-Gi-Oh AR game would be pretty fun . Nice to see how tech is coming along.

Sony’s first party efforts going forward will be about delivering a portfolio of exclusives in multiple genres.

They don’t want to be known as the Uncharted box, the FPS machine, or the platformer palace. It’s about diversity.

RUMOR: Sony E3 Conference Details Leaked: Uncharted, The Order, Guerrilla and more
Quote:
We’re just a bit over a month to E3, and today a source that opted to remain anonymous contacted us to share what he alleges to be Sony Computer Entertainment’s plans for their press conference.

Our source mentioned that the information comes from contacts within Sony’s worldwide studios and a further contact at the BBH New York marketing firm, which works with Sony for part of its promotion.

The info reported below is awfully detailed, which is one of the reasons why we decided to publish it, but we were also able to confirm part of it with a second source. The double-sourced information is bolded, so while you should take everything with the customary grain of salt, the bolded parts stand on more solid ground than the rest.
Quote:
The source also mentioned that the following publishers will be on stage: Rockstar (with Grand Theft Auto), Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Konami, Capcom, Warner Bros, Activision, Square Enix, Take Two.

(Update: our source followed up saying that he’s actually not 100% sure if Rockstar will actually be on stage or Sony will just announce the next generation Ground Theft Auto V on their behalf)

There will also big titles announced for the Instant Game Collection, a segment on Project Morpheus, one on the Sony Entertainment Network and a re-introduction of PlayStation Now. Price drops will also be unveiled for the PS3 and PS Vita.

We’ll also see several smaller-scale, downloadable titles. PS Vita Vita will get some attention, but not much – as it’ll be a PS4 show. PS3 will get a montage and few new titles. Finally, the show will close with a teaser of a sequel of The Last of Us.

Again, everything mentioned above should be taken with the skepticism usually reserved to rumors, but much of it is so specific that it’s hard to completely disbelieve it. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait for June to see if everything will check out, but one thing is for sure: Personally I really hope it will, because if this is really what Sony’s presser will look like, we’re in for a real treat.
