Though no one really fights in winter or like to fight. Normally you don't. I dont know for Japan, but in ancient Rome, before Marius' reforms on the army, soldiers used to serve for less than a year and they start fighting in April. Plus, fighting in winter is demoralising for your troops because it's damn cold, damn wet and other reasons. Only the Russians can fight in winter (Waterloo, etc.)

To be honest, Sengoku is not that comparable to ROT3K (Romance of the Three Kindoms) when it comes to feints, defection, treachery and has no Zhuge Liang, so I wonder what kind of strategies and such the MC (Yes! Back on topic!) could find. If it's something like screaming your general's name again, then I pass.

I hope to see a sequel BTW, if ever the story ends and Nobuna dies (which is quite possible, since it's a historic event and the author can't do a "Nobuna and Sagara lived happily in a mountain far from Japan and had many children"). The more I read, the more I like the story yet the more I feel that some should die. Strange, eh?

depends on what you consider as prominent.

Seriously though, even currently as LN (as of v7) there are still tons of famed Oda vassal that had not appeared yet...

I'll give you 4 and 5 since they are basically connected.

2 does happen but it is only restricted to few large port notably Kai and a reason why Nobunaga puts that city as one of his top priority when marching toward Kyoto.

not quite sure what you are getting at 3, technology do advance, but at that time there is still no fighting winter and snow.

Horse are scarce. The famed Takeda cavalries are now believed to be less then 3000 and the ratio of horse to soldier is no more than 10:1 and closer to 15:1. Based on new records found, Takeda's cavalries aren't even real cavalries but foot soldiers using horses for maneuverability reasons. It is also been supported by the fact that Japanese horse were not only small but had short legs, those horse were even smaller compare to Mongolian horses that even lacks the stamina and carrying ability(only advantages Mongolian horses had)

As for winter war, it does not happen North and East from Mino due to snow and freezing temperature. Both Takeda and Uesugi had mentioned many times that they can't mount campaigns during winter.. That fact also buys Nobunaga some times for him to deal with Western and Southern enemies.

BTW, Japanese Sengoku doesn't end witht eh death of Nobunaga, it officially ends 1603 when Tokugawa establishes new Shogunate, 21 years after Nobunaga's death. That is even on the earliest definition as some historian put Takugawa's death as the end of the Sengoku Period, in that case the period ends on 1616, 34 years after Nobunaga's death.

There are still all those thing, especially defection and treachery, that is the bread and butter of the Japanese Sengoku periods and due to geography it also feature some guerrilla warfare type of encounters (toward the latter periods) and fort battles and plenty of night raids and ambush.

There's also that something which... uh... might send someone wondering whether it's legal... unless context is given

Things just got interesting especially Niwa. The usual smiling tactician got another side to her, personally I like it. I feel that women should have another side of them, it makes them more interesting and you'll fall in love with the surprise.

Also, how many Lolicons did Hanbei and Nene just make in this thread?

Hanbei looked a lot younger than she really is. Niwa is the only adult among the group it seems.

Wow... greatest age difference is 7 years apart. Man, Sagara's going to end up less of a lolicon than Hideyoshi was!

Actually I think he was talking about the average general acceptance age a couple should be apart to be a couple. Wow, and Chad101 I agree with you highly.

Can't really figure out what you trying to say.

Preparation for war /= going to war.

You can prepare all you want but the fact is there is generally no war engagement during winter up north and east.

Sure, horses are used in war but when the best ratio is about 1:10 to 1:15 for supposedly the largest cavalry in Sengoku, that is pretty scarce in my book.

As I said the recent research shows that even the so called Takeda cavalry only uses horses for transportation, they don't fight on the horse. So they definitely scare of losing horses.

And you are dividing Azuchi–Momoyama period, Azuchi–Momoyama period overlaps Sengoku period. Argue all you want, but the current popular argument on when Sengokuu ends are either:

1) Nobunaga been consider as Tengajin (天下人) (1576)
2) Siege of Odawara (1590)
3) Establishment of Tokugawa Shogunate (1603)

None of it suggest that Sengoku ends with death of Nobunaga.

Anyway, this is getting out of topic, again, it like the Three Kingdom period, strictly speaking in academic sense, Three Kingdom only lasts about 40 some years but that is not what most people and historians might look at it.

Feel bad for Nagahide, she's now older than Katsuie when her real-life counterpart is only 2 years older than Nobunaga, while Katsuie is around 10 years older...

Yeah... doing the math... Nene (born 1546, married 1561, 15?) vs. Hideyoshi (born 1536, married 1561, 25?) 25-15=10?!?!?!? HOLY SHI-. Wow...

On the other hand though Lady Yodo... (1569, around 1582, so about 13+ vs. Hideyoshi who was about 46 at the time.... ugh....)

Hahaha, when you said that, it gets everyone excited. Niwa and Nene are big surprises. Nene is so bold for her age. Niwa who is always so cheerful and judge things by a scale of 0 to 100 can make that type of face smiling but scary.
