It's advertising an upcoming GnP exhibit at Ibaraki Airport.

That anime really is going places.

And now I see where those Box guys put the sex in that doujin. They really know the least expected places and yet on hindsight it makes sense...

Am I reading this correctly: the exhibit will be there for almost two months? (09 September to 31 October)

And it was a parody of the famous Patton slapping incident.

But then, I made a mistake too - Kay actually wanted to fight on, while the principal wanted to throw the match.

I guess by that point we were both so disgusted we weren't looking at the details.

They say this Tatsu-guy writes deconstructions, but he seems to be more of a twisting for grimdark type.

You should read his K-ON! trilogy to see where his reputation for deconstruction comes from.

I hadn't read the K-On deconstruction proper, but from the reviews on the Net, the author seems to have, at least in comparison to this ... farce ... stayed within deconstruction territory. The endings are grim, but somewhat plausible.

As I understand it, a deconstruction is when you play the premises straight or even in a somewhat mean spirited way - not so much to change fundamental assumptions or just add every grimdark measure. For example, a book saying Senshado even with the known safety measures can't *possibly* be as harmless as the show portrays it would be a deconstruction. Even the rape after surrender can be interpreted as a very mean-spirited extension of the show's canon surrender (after all, there are indeed no upper limits stated on what may be imposed in the surrender terms and Katyusha was talking about slave labor).

But stripping away the carbon coating is similar to deconstructing a magical story by insisting on there being no magic. And a book where a flamethrower tank is brought in for one scene to kill a bunch of bunnies is just ... sick, which along with my well-known soft spot for Rabbit Team, made that short scene the most appalling of the whole book for me despite its brevity...

I agree, somehow, I thought he had changed the entire universe instead of what he did in K-on!

Not to mention that, if I remember the rules correctly, a flamethrower tank would be disqualified; it's not on the approved list of vehicles.

Well, I expect some poor soul will translate this farce sooner or later. Sounds like a revenge fic pretending to be a deconstruction.

I would have thought that the existence of the BR Law might have given readers a hint.

Oh well, I'll just wait for people to read the translated version before commenting further.

Call me shallow, but I usually hold doujins to 2 standards:

1. Can fap? Or...
2. Give FEELS?

No need for reading the little words.

Anyway, Box-kun's latest work when flipped through didn't give me either, so I chucked it in the Recycling Bin without further thought.

Some elaboration on what exactly the BR Law is would be helpful, as Google only came up with law firms.

It works better if you use the kanji characters. It stands for Battle Royale law. Kitano was the teacher (I hadn't watched Battle Royale but I suppose his appearance in Tatsu's book is similar to what he looks like in that film.

Tatsu-chan doesn't get it, does he? Most men, ultimately, do not really "get up" on badly injured women. There is a reason why the average hentai game, when depicting the defeated heroine, depicts her clothes broken but without even a bruise.

Okay, that makes some sense. I've read Battle Royale (it was serialised here) and I didn't really care for the premise very much.

Author appeal. He likes it, so he thinks other people like it. Nope nope nope.

...unless he's taking baby steps towards the guro crowd?

....oh god, I'm agreeing with you again. Does this make me AUEG, you Axis Zeon, and Sumeragi as the Titans?

You guys are actually discussing the contents of a H-jinshi?

Holy crap, that means we need new GuP contents fast... the men are growing restless!

Who knows what they'd hump next!
