Need something to take my mind off things

Ok guys, I've watched most of the anime that has come out in the last while, but I just had some bad things happen in my life so...Yeah I'm looking for anime that I can just immerse myself in, and forget about things. Obviously anything that is positive in attitude would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

No problem I have just what you need.

Sora no woto - It's about a young female soldier/trumpeter named Kanata Sorami. She meets interesting people, goes on great adventures, and learns about the beauty of life, friendship, and herself along the way. Great anime with many heartwarming scenes, a beautiful soundtrack, and many moments that will make you cheer.

Kimikiss Pure Rouge - It's about two boys who go through the ups and downs of high school romance.

Haiyoru! Nyaruko-san - Gut busting hilarious school comedy about a normal high school boy and his adventures with a clumsy, cute and eccentric deity.

That's all I have for now. What do you think?

I recommend Gintama, cause whenever I am feeling down, I watch it and my problems seem to go away, albeit for a while. It has up to 200+ episodes, plenty to keep you company.

Some of my favorites that never really have sad points:
Ookiku Furikabutte
Planetes
Usagi Drop (short)
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad

Series that have some sad points but also some really uplifting points:
Cross Game
Natsume Yuujinchou
Honey & Clover

He already watched it, and he also had it in his avatar.

I recommend Milky Holmes. Despite its childish character designs, many people would enjoy it thanks to its zanny amounts of humor that makes you feel positive.

Not yet mentioned:

Haibane Renmei: Interesting setting, coming to terms with your inner demons, sometimes a bit tragic but never downright depressing

Tamayura (OVA) + Tamayura ~ Hitotose: Hobby + friendship; possibly too positive, but I love it.

Kimi ni Todoke: It's billed as a romance (and it is one), but for me the main draw is the main character's development and friendships; there are two seasons - only the first is a masterpiece, but if you liked that, you'll want to see the finale.

I'm going to recommend a few more.

Dog Days - Cute, funny, awesome, and really heartwarming.
Amagami SS - Sweet high school romance story with a loveable cast of characters.
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - Really funny anime with a great cast of characters.

I'm going to leave you alone now.

I think Macross Frontier would be a good choice for this. It's really engaging, beautiful, and an entirely different reality.

If you've never seen Ouran High Host Club, I think that anime would be good for you. Really good anime, really positive, very funny, with lovable characters. One of my favorite animes, actually.

Someone mentioned Dog Days. I recommend this one, too. It has a bunch of kemonomimis, so if you like kemonomimis, check it out. It is very cute with many very cute and lovable characters. A very positive anime. It is very lighthearted. For example, in the anime, some dog kemonomimis are at war with cat kemonomimis, but in the warfare, no one dies. People just get bonked on the head and stuff. Very lighthearted. Might be just what you are looking for.
