Maybe the IS characters are weaker than I thought. Houki only barely gets by Rinko. Once again I take the wrong side on a close match. Sana and Ramao are pretty close as expected but it was Sana who was stronger. Yasuna shows that Kiil Me Baby is as strong as it looks with an easy win.
Idolm@ster characters have looked good enough so I think Chihaya can beat Hibiki to take the first match. Fukuji Mihoko is one of the stronger Saki characters which makes her one of the strongest characters in the competition. Makise Kurisu should be decently strong and would make Round 2 if she was in most other groups but Mihoko should be out of her league. If Kei was as strong as she looked in preliminaries, she would still have a tough time with Louise. Considering she had around a minute of screentime, I doubt she is. On the off chance she is, I look forward to her Saimoe performance when she has actual screentime. Well, certainly didn't expect Kurisu to upset Captain. It's the first true loss by Saki, but not something completely crazy (Saki herself nearly lose on the first day...)
And thus, another 2-1 day (Total 25-17). The other two groups went as expected with my two favorite finishing dead last as expected. Kurisu received lots of love today. I think she'll probably be considered a hero in the block since she technically single-handedly probably stopped a Saki character from winning a block. Though some of her votes may have come from that fact (or just the Legendary VA combo), her win feels very genuine.

Chihaya and Louise win as expected. Arakawa Kei does quite well. I'm guessing Mihoko was helping her but getting this isn't a bad performance when you only had about a minute of screentime total. The real story for these set of match is how Kurisu managed to take down Mihoko and the record for highest vote total so far. Considering what we saw of Kurisu last year and during preliminaries, this was probably an assassination. However, maybe Mihoko wasn't as stong as she was before. She did share a preliminary group with Matsumi Kuro. Losing Mihoko isn't a huge deal for the Saki fanbase since they have a few characters at that level or higher but in any case this drives home the fact that the Saki fanbase isn't unbeatable. The Saki fanbase should learn from this and become even harder to beat.
And we've got more Saki characters up today. Hajime should be the favourite in the first match. Her opponents aren't so tough. Second match is a debatable one between Teru and Madoka. My initial reaction was Teru would win but Madoka probably is more likely considering recent results. Tomoki splitting votes with Teru is a small factor but it might be enough to tip things in Madoka's favour. I have Karuta taking the third. I don't think Fear is that strong and I think a stronger Idolm@ster character would be needed to beat Karuta. So much for a possible Hanazawa vs. Kugimiya 2nd round match. Karuta didn't have enough motivation I guess.
 But Madoka has proven herself strong enough to reach the second round.  1 out of 3, I can live with these results.
