So, when are the villians going to start dying? [anime/manga spoilers]

Zabuza [antagonist] KIA
Slayer: Kakashi & private army.

Habu [antagonist] KIA
Slayer: Kakashi

Orochimaru [villian] Active

Gato [villian] KIA
Slayer: Zabuza

The "Five" Sounds [villian lackies] 2 KIA, "3" Active
Slayers: Neji, Chouji

Kimimaro [tragic villian] Active

Kabuto [antagonist] Active

Itachi [villian] Active

Kisame [villian] Active

6 other S-Ranked Criminals (members of Akastsuki) 6 Active

Uchia Sasuke ["fallen hero"] Active

212 episodes into Naruto, this is the status of its major villians. The question is, when are they going to stop dying off? Orochimaru and crew appear to be heading for a decisive final battle (I hope). Akastsuki still needs to be dealt with as well. The Sand have been defeated, and recently become allies of the Hidden Leaf once again. How will these villians start dying off, and who will kill them? Or in Sasuke's place, possibly redeem. Discuss.

I think Gai-Kakashi is just saying that he is growing impatient with the dragging out of each fight.

Kimimaro isn't a tragic villain, he's just a plain ol' villain.

Orochimaru didn't convert him or anything, Kabuto himself said that Kimimaro's original twisted foundations aligned themselves quite perfectly with Orochimaru's, and that's why Kimimaro worships him so much--even in near death.

Kimmy's origion seemed to suggest though that he wasn't bad to begin with. He fought his way through Orochimaru's "test", and only asked for the release of his clansmen. That seems pretty noble. He probably went totally bad later.

Sakon and Udon count as one? How does that work? True, one usually resides in the other, but they can split apparently whenever they want.

Well, Itachi was an ANBU captian at age 13. He did plenty of good for the leaf when he was on their side. He seemed to have a normal relationship with his family, with the exception that they "sensed" something wasn't quite right with Itachi.

And as for Haku, a slip of the keys on my part.

I'm not particularly impatient to see how all these baddies get dealt with. But still, there are quite a few bad guys that still need to be dealt with.

Granted that I haven't read 212 yet I don't think we know that those first two Sound Nin are Out. Down certainly but not necessarily out.

In addition I'm in no hurry to finish off "villians" who may come to be allies...like aparenty the 3 Sand Nins do.

It's my bet that Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura are supposed to parallel the Legendary Sennin. As such Sasuke gonna need to come back to the Leaf eventually so he's enemy status seems premature to me. My hope is that Naruto's true unique ability to inspire others will balance out Sasukes desire to follow the dark path as Oro did.

The manga made clear that both Neji and Chouji's fights were "fatal". The spider dude got his internal organs blasted and fatboy got hit with a "fatal fist" that could cave in a mountian. They're not coming back.

Also, if Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura really are paralelling the legendary three, that means Sauke's going dark, and is gonna stay that way.

Itachi was expected to be a hero of the leaf because at a young age he had awsome power then he went over to being evil so fallen hero kinda fits

Let me clarify:

3 Lengendary Leaf Nin= Tsunade, Jaiyra, and Oro
But none of them became the 4th.....it was Jaiyra's student who did.

Sakura will = Tsunade
Sasuke will = Oro
however the gliche is Naruto = the 4th not Jiayra, this coupled to his ability to inspire others (Sasuke, Hanita, and Sakura to name a few) will be Sasuke's saving grace. Sasuke will be able to come back to the Leaf and be all the stronger for it.

However I don't anticipate this happening for a while. As someone (who I can't recall) said on this forum. Oro convienetly switched bodies which means he can't again for a while. So in that mean time Sasuke will learn the dark arts and discover (or else find out the truth of what I assume Naruto will tell him) Oro's plans for him.

I'd still like to see a "most likely" before the "KIA" at the top. Kishimoto made a big deal about Sasuke and Naruto being able to kill someone so I don't think he'll allow Chouji and Neji to kill on their first encounter with an enemy. I don't think neither of them are dead either for that matter. That final pill was "most likely" going to kill Chouji. Key words here are "most likely" and if you know Kishimoto you know why he included them. Chouji'll live. If he'd kill off Neji we would have seen his seal disapear. I think we still have a long way to go before any of our kid heroes actually kills someone. That's a pretty big step.

IMO, It's kind of hard to call Itachi "evil", as he is more so "confused".

He killed his whole family (with the exception of Sasuke of course) just to test his own strength. If he had stayed in Konoha, they probably wouldn't like him to much, so he was forced to be exiled.

The group he is with seems to fit what he is going through, just being an immature at heart kid (with a whole lot of strength) that wants to prove to everyone that he is the strongest.

Orichimaru on the other hand, just wants to kill everyone who apposes him and make everyone else his slaves. And he'll take any means neccesary to gain it.

Holy jumping Jeehovas. It's you. How is eating-snickers-on-top-of-dead-bodies going? Yes yes. Enough killing the bad guys. Let's kill some good guys now. They can start with the old geezer who has happen to have a sword stuck in his midsection like an erection. Then we can kill the following good guy which happens to be Oro-sama, although we all know Sasuke-kun will protest mightyly at the prospect of Oro-sama is being killed by anyone (animators are not excluded either). Some of the reasons behind Sasuke-kun's objection of killing Oro-sama can be found in the Revival Thread. Start with the last page.
