You kind of can't ignore canon in this regard, Demi. Even if it's the movie, something needs to fill the void, and, like Kaijo says, if it's not explained, it's a plot hole in this regard.

Graham finding the book is NOT a real plot hole, might make you scratch your head, but not a plot hole.

Better one: Her doctor is her legal guardian. Done.

Seriously, this is a "why doesn't everyone recognize Clark as Superman" kind of plothole. It chews on you when you think about it, but beyond that has no critical effect on the story.

Well that is sad but I donít suffer because you guys think I am crazy. I never wanted to make a bad impression, I really didnít, but I donít believe on changing something about yourself just to fit in. I will respect and not jump on others, and I think we can all live with that.

Also Nanya I think you are wrong and I can proof that easily: a friend of mine watched the series and agrees with me on Hayate. So I am not the only one anymore.

Then I'd wonder why they weren't living together.

There are quite a few plot holes in popular movies, too. People can enjoy them without questioning them. Sometimes I can, too. But let's take another series that was made into a movie.

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, a group of Earthbenders were held captive on a metal platform in the middle of an ocean. This made sense, because they couldn't bend their way out of it. In the movie, they were kept in a camp on solid ground with few guards. Because of the change, it created a large plot hole. And sure, I'd say that people enjoyed it (statistically speaking, there has to be someone, heh).

But it doesn't change the fact that Graham had three separate roles that allowed Hayate to be in the situation she was in. Each one of those three is a plot hole needing to be filled. It can be ignored, but it is still a critical thing if one wants to put any critical thinking into the movie.

Hey, if that's the case, I have no problems with it. At least that would explain Hayate better than the first movie explained certain things.

We have projects in the real world that allow kids to live on their own should their family circumstances deem it necessary. Hayate could be in one of these.

Is this the "girlfriend from Canada" thing?

Anyway, Sansker, point is, it's not subjective despite what you think.

Hayate's a main character.

She's LISTED as a main character in EVERY list out there.

All the fans say she's a main character.

What's hard to understand about that?

Or we can replace Graham with a real uncle that lives in China and works a lot. Really how Hayate lives alone is the smallest and less unimportant detail you can get. Is goof for nitpick but works on the story. The same with Graham finding Hayate first hand. But that one is a little more irrelevant.

Nanya, is a friend. I can't introduce him to you so just let it go.

Such as? Remember, Hayate doesn't have any family. At least, none that are involved in any way. Her family circumstance is: alone. (as far as we know).

Now, if Hayate did have a living relative that provided for her, but didn't want her around, that might go a long way toward explaining things. Perhaps an aunt or grandmother that was her mother's sister, but didn't like the way her sister ran off with a guy, and Hayate is a reminder of that. She'll do her minimum duty to see that Hayate is taken care of, but doesn't want the little annoyance around.

Because being Hayate wasn't suffering enough in As.

I think it's just a matter of Tsuzuki following conservation of characters. He could have brought in another character to do that and had Graham just have his scheme, but it would have made both of those characters have less depth.

No, they were the ones who were saying I was the only one and I knew I wasn't so there is that.

Sansk: There, two people. Not the only one.

You, and him. There.

Unless said friends you meant Demi/Archon

well, i'm not intending to misinterpret what Sanker is saying but he probably refers to the fact Hayate doesn't feels like a main charactrr despite being labled as one. I agree to a degree (yay a rhyme xD), as much as i like Hayate i must admit her only notorious role was being the morality pet of the Wolkenritter and also a living artifact to move the plot around. Kinda like Vivio in StrikerS or Tohma in FORCE 1st half o_o

Lol Aki, don't walk in xD

Anyway...

I also asked someone. She told me (copy pasted from FB): " not the main character, but the main stage."

Another: Hayate is not the main character but she is the highlight of that season.

Archon actually doesn't agree with me, and he already say that. Demi. I don't know.

Also I think that is the way to look at Hayate, bhl88. At least I will use that for now on.

Okay, the endless discussion that's going on needs to either stop or move to the Nanoha Franchise General Discussion Thread since it has very little to do with direct discussion of the A's movie itself (and it's getting a little tedious at the same time with people sniping at each other).

To help with that, I'm locking this thread for about 24 hours (give or take).

Time's up, thread open.

That makes me wonder if Hayate might get a real transformation scene in the movie.

She already kinda did in the series. Both when she changed into Reinforce, and when she was freed from the book.

It was pretty short though, and not much "transforming" going on.
