Hey guys, im currently looking for a romance anime with a strong female lead sought of similar to Shana from Shakugan no Shana and Ryōko Ōkami from Ōkami-san, so basically badass chick falls in love. The only real criteria is none of that magical-girl genre stuff and for the characters to be of a reasonable age 14-15+

Yes, Otome Youkai Zakuro is a good choice.

You asked for both strong and badass, which aren't quite the same thing, though they do overlap of course. (Zakuro is both).

For badass girls in love I'd pick:

Mikoto from A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun
Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion
Lafiel from Crest of the Stars
Taiga from Toradora
Yuno from Mirai Nikki
Hinagiku from Hayate the Combat Butler

For strong girls in love I'd pick:

Lovely Complex. Risa isn't particulary badass but she's strong in terms of her character.

When you get tired of romances and want to watch a dramatic story with a really strong female lead, I recommend Seirei no Moribito.

i dont really think ill get tired of romances, but the way im going ill run out of them, so ill probably watch that soon :P

If you don't care if it's a manga, ai kora (love collage) would fit all the criteria listed above but sadly there is no anime adaption so you would need to read it haha

Even if my attempts are pathetic and comical, and even if I'm covered in the mud of my defeat, if I can keep fighting and look up at the sky as I lie on the ground, that alone is proof of true strength!
