I don't think it's fair to denounce the X-Rounders straight away. Each and every one of them mentioned above were in the thick of the action, and lost their loved ones through the war. These surely created painful memories in them that in the case of Flit, never stopped coming. How to expect Flit to reconcile himself to the Vagans when they keep taking away those dear to him? In fact, their atrocities only legitimise his maniacal views.

I've no qualms with Kio's supposed recklessness, I think it's more a naivety stemming from young age than anything else. Same for Fram. Though I admit that I could be simplifying matters.

True, but the X-Rounder aspect does factor into it a great deal. The novels in particular notes how X-Rounders are more prone to more instinctual, more impulsive, and more violent actions and thoughts than regular people. Also in the novels, due to the Mu-czell helmet, Asem sees a vision of feral humans that are apparently X-Rounders, or something like that.

That kind of aspect is likely why Fram settled on her course of action when she was testing Zeheart, and probably why she flipped out so badly when Kio tried to end the fight between him and her.

True, but this is a subtle admission that X-Rounders are more emotionally-driven than normal humans and are more prone to let their emotions rule over reason. In times of war, such people are probably a more dangerous bunch than their normal counterparts. But in times of peace, being more sensitive could make the compassionate difference to the societies that shelter them.

So it appears that Fram may actually have romantic feelings for Zeheart. Girard kinda hinted at it when she was questioning her. Of course Fram gave some bs excuse like "oh I'm just following my commander's orders" but it was pretty obvious there's more than that going on, at least from her end anyway.
