Well, a very intriguing episode and a blast from the past. Yokodera's apparently had more memories of Tsutsukakushi Tsukasa than the girls themselves. Tsukasa's so tsun at times that it kind of reminds me of Tsukushi, who also has a similar personality (like mother, like daughter it seems). It appears that she's been afflicted with the illness for some time but exacerbates it by staying up late just to sew clothes for her daughters.

At least, now it all links together - Yokodera had no memory of Tsukasa, yet the sisters remembered her (although it was all his own memories with her), so in the end it kind of led to present-day events. Tsukiko's hypocritical humour was at its best here. She chides Yokodera and a little while later she practically glomps young Youto. It's also amusing how her tolerance to alcohol was so weak she got drunk off simply having a whiff of the beer Tsukasa had.

I'm sure that Yokodera will eventually help mend the sisters' relationship with their mother; he's already helped out Azusa and Emi, plus he helped mend the sisters' relationship with each other before. He's a pervert but he's got a heart of gold. Looking forward to the next one.

now considering what i have seen until now, i bet that when tsu-mama dies tsukiko and tsukushi are very sad cause they don't haven't made any memories with her. So MC gives up his own memories to the two girls who then think that they were the one who made all those things with their mother

Tsukasa reminded me Haruko from Air a lot.

So it's a patchwork transfer of his memories of their mother to the sisters in order to make up for their bad family relationships.

A very... commendable deed from Yokodera, albeit something a bit sad. My respect for him just skyrocketed.

As for Tsukasa (Tsu-mama), the implication would be Tuberculosis. The only oddity is how or why she'd be allowed to work as a Kindergarten, but the other bits fall in line with the given description. Send kids away for a while, can't travel and the family doesn't want to send them back. While rare in a first world country, it's not unheard of. And for the "absent parent" trope, there at least appears to be some thought involved.
Um, Except TB is curable? Unless its XDR TB, but that's mostly confined to Africa. This is taking place in 2003, not 1850... There's really no excuse for anyone who'd live in a house like THAT to die of TB in 2003.

Cancer makes much more sense, and is much more likely to be fatal even now. Also takes care of the working with kids thing. Cancer being way less communicable.

However, that's likely over-thinking it, My guess is its just nonspecific generic drama "illness."

that actually make perfect sense and probably the most sensible and probable outcome, you sure you havent read the novel?

but thats raise the question of if the Nekogami have the power to take them back in time, can tsukiko not wish she is cure? revive her? save her father? make any of this not happen and happy end? though i can see the writer counter with if she did that then tsukiko wont have met yokodera. but if tsukiko chose the former because of that for both her parent's life then i probably say she a piece of poo.

I'm thinking that viewing the past is basically like reading a "Read Only" file on the computer. You can look, but you can't change the overall events.

Not if this past is in an alternate universe. Any changes to that universe will not change the one they're from.

That's only if the writers play by your rules, which is not always the case. Since it is fiction, the writers can make up any rules they want to, or, even, not have any rules at all.

And if they change the past, then it will bring a grandfather paradox.

Kinda remind me of stable time loop.

Quote:
Through Applied Phlebotinum, Functional Magic, or some other means, our heroes travel back to the past. In the past, they wind up being responsible for the very events that underpin their own "present." This creates a chicken-and-egg scenario, in which the looping sequence of events has no clear beginning. The result of breaking the zeroth law of Time Travel: do not cause the event you went back to prevent.

I was merely stating a possible alternative, though knowing now what Youto's wish was, if he cancels it, everything that's happened since that day will be reverted back the way it should have been.

How much influence their current presence in the past itself will have on the future remains to be seen.

If they can alter the past and affect their future, I say start patching things up in the past so the Tsu-family can have a genuine mother-daugther bond. If Youto did transfer his memories to the girls, that very nice thing he did there.

Also: Kid Youto is so friggin adorable. Everything in this show is so cure.

After catching up on Episodes 09 (Azuki Swallow), 10 (Tsukushi Ticket) and 11 (Tsukasa Time).

Wow, those three episodes had their heavy moments (the Cat God's dilemma, the siblings' imminent trip to Italy, and the time travel adventure), but the part with Tsukasa really made me feel a bit heavy (and the incoming monsoon seems to be contributing to the mood as well).

There's a chance that Tsukasa may be suffering from a smoking-related illness (she may be smoking during the early part of the episode, which is replaced by a lollipop in the anime).

Also, it's rather obvious that Youto sacrificed his memories to patch over the painful ones by Tsukushi and Tsukiko, and it was Youto himself who acted as Tsukasa's surrogate for her daughters. Yeah, Youto really got some points for his sacrifice. As an anime-only viewer, I wish that Tsukasa would make it. However, that may be impossible.

For now, I just have to wait a few days for one of the biggest surprises this season to end!

My belief is tsukasa used the cat for a wish.. Maybe a husband and children? And the cat gave her a dead husband and estranged children..and then she made another wish for a boy...yutto? And the cat gave her a curse of short life....

Azusa and Tsukiko are two of most cutest maids, I have ever seen!
Tsukushi can help Tsukiko wash her body, while I will help Tsukushi wash her body, thoroughly !
