It surely will cover a lot. Campione! covered a whole book in one episode than got stuck, we only had some Ena action on 11th episode.
DaL view from Nico is on low quality so we can't judge the visual effects yet.

Good start. Not a mind-blowingly spectacular start (doesn't happen, if ever) but the animation delivered nice visuals but the pacing near the end accelerated a little too quickly for my liking. Hopefully the pace settles down in later episodes though.

The seiyuu were impressive as well. Kotori's antics at the beginning were cute and hilarious, and Reine collapsing just before she ended her introduction was amusing.

Premise aside, with many places I want to tsukkomi, Kotori has made a really bad impression on me, after that 180 degree shift in her role and attitude. And, is this supposed to be a mainly serious show? Cos' some of the comedy fell flat for me. Especially that training program for Shidou (=_=); And then suddenly it transits to Tobuichi giving me a really serious reason for fighting the Seirei.

Date A Live, despite its action-y premise, isn't supposed to be taken seriously nor does have a deep and thought-provoking storyline. It's still pretty enjoyable and does blends well between romantic comedy and action elements, but it's nothing outstandingly serious.

That's the anime for me!
Light, easy-going, small romance/action and funny.
Always gets a 10/10 from me in the end if all of that is included and put together nicely, hehe.

It's not so bad, actually, as long as you don't look at everything as ridiculous.

And I'm a sucker for Reine's character design.

There was just something OFF about it. Maybe it was the lack of BGM and the ending which had better not be the OP.

Still, I feel Kotori is going to kill this show for me. I'm not looking for outstanding shows. A mediocre plot or premise can still have high entertainment value to me if done right.

Just that, when the show started with that slight info dump on Kuukanshin (can I translate it to space quake?), I thought "sounds interesting, looks like a serious show"). And then Kotori starts jumping around, panchira mode and all, ok fine, I kind of expected this fan-service to be present. Then, somewhere in the middle of the episode, the protag found out that his classmate and sister are not what they seemed. Ok, my main gripe is with Kotori actually (the shift was quite hard to swallow). And out-of-place comedy thrown in in the middle of a serious discussion. Just my first impression so far. I'll see what it has to offer in a couple more episodes.

Anime only watcher here, and I suspect that Kotori's playful, lovable, panchira-on-request imouto personality is one big ruse, since Shidou has been known to be a big siscon. This also means that this anti-Spirit plan may have been in motion for some time already.

Kuukanshin is translated on Baka-tsuki as "space-time quake". That translation is much better because the anime portrays the quake as matter simply bent before being annihilated.

Hmm, normally, I would use Jikuu (時空) for space-time *shrug*.

I personally thought the first was great, the only problem I had with it was the pacing problem in the last couple of minutes. Hopefully they will fix that in the next episode 2.
The best moment of episode for me was Kotori's dance on Shidou's bed.

It's not, the opening is Date A Live (デート・ア・ライブ)" by sweet ARMS and Ending is "Save the World" by Iori Nomizu.

It's hard to judge on pilot episodes alone to be fair, but once the series goes through at least the first quarter you can just about see how the pacing and progression is going to be like. Hopefully they will manage the serious parts and the comedy parts better because it kind of felt like they were rushing to set things up for the next episode.

As he said, he practically copy+paste his post from Mondaiji, and the previous threads...etc.
