Music as Core

So I'm starting to like this types of anime with music as an important part of the plot, or at least music has a part in the anime like Angel Beats. I was wondering if you guys could suggest the ones that you know.

Anime I've seen:
Angel Beats
Tari Tari
Mekakucity Actors

Watching:
Your Lie in April

Thanks in Advance.

I strongly recommend last season's The Rolling Girls, which was heavily inspired by the music of a 1980s Japanese punk-rock band.

My first choice would certainly be Nodame Cantabile, unless you have a strong dislike for classical music, and even then the show might change your mind. The Anime-Keep fansub is my favorite.

AKB0048 is a fun show about idols fighting a repressive regime in a futuristic setting. Lots of song and dance numbers in this show.

I liked the first episode of Hibike! Euphonium even though not much happened. It focuses on some high-school freshmen who want to join the school's concert band.

Beck
Nodame Cantabile
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
Sakamichi no Apollon
White Album 2
(no need to watch part 1)
K-ON if you don't mind something a bit more silly.

If Idol shows are fine then there is Love Live! School Idol Project and The Idolm@ster.

Hibike! Euphonium is an ongoing one right now.

There's an old slice of life called Piano about a girl who plays the... piano.

Beck and Nodame Cantabile are certainly the first two that come to mind for me.

Well it's only my personal opinion but...

Beck - 8/10 (it is more mature as well as older anime. Been ages since I watched it so can't say much.

Nodame Cantabile - 7/10 (There are lots of stills animation wise and characters are 2d as in they don't have much of personality. Most of them are just plain stupid but it does get better and music is nice, along with some story bits. Kinda similar to YLiA since one of the characters helps another to do better at music and they have some traumatic memories.)

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso - I think that's actually Your Lie in April so you've watched it already.

Sakamichi no Apollon - 8/10 (It's a jazz music)

White Album 2 - 10/10 (It is romance series with music as one of the main themes. I liked it a lot cause it didn't follow a standard love triangle formula and did something different. It is nice visually and sound wise so worth watching)

K-ON - 8/10 (If you don't take it seriously and just watch for fun, it is entertaining. If you are looking for something deep, you'll hate it. It does have some nice music)

Love Live! School Idol Project - 9/10 (I personally loved it. Might not be biggest fan of music here vene though there are some nice pieces but I loved the characters. Series also managed to give some depth to the overall story and characters, everyone is unique)

The Idolm@ster - 8(7)/10 (More of a episodic series. I mostly started to like it somewhere around episode 7. It eventually has a mini story arc but nothing massive. Some nice songs. Chihaya's mini arc is the best one. Great song there)

Hope this helps.
