Well some that you list are actually on AnimeSuki. Others can be bought through Amazon. You'll find them if you really want to.

Watashi no Tamagoyaki FTW.
Way back then everybody saw that show. It's just forgotten. And yes, "Watashi no Tamagoyaki" is probably the best ED ever made. I will never forget it. Sadly I can't find a version on youtube that has the karaoke.

Or Lily C.A.T.? One of the first animes to be officially subbed into german back in the 90s.

Who has watched the really bad Urushihara-Anime Legend of Lemnear or enjoyed the visual splendor of detailed nip...eyes in Plastic Little?

And about the newer stuff, Tideline Blue doesn't seem to be much known as well as Demonbane.
Ah, good memories. Though I can only about Plastic Little.

Kiddy Grade was a hard Anime to buy, I could not find that anywhere. Then I found one brand new and sealed boxset left on Ebay that some Anime shop were selling so I got that one.

Not sure if its rare in the US but it certainly is here. But their were complaints made about it in some other countries because Lumière had the appearance of a 10 year old and was shown in a sexual manner, Ha as if I would care, I fell in love with Anita King. XD

But anyway I'm glad I found it and now own it. I still need to watch it though.

Tekkaman Blade Specials: Before Media Blasters released this series in North America these were seen as the holy grail of rare OVA's. I managed to track down a rather grainy pack for these.

SPT Layzner: I'm going to leave it up to peoples imagination regarding how I managed to acquire this series.
Wow you have Tekkaman Blade Specials? I can't find those anywhere, and I searched about everywhere.
Let's see rare animes that I seen are Raijin-oh, Yussha series beside GaoGaiGar, Iron Leaguer, though I seen them long time ago.

the first 10 episode of ushio and tora back in the early 90s i never heard of that anime ever again. was a very stereotypical shonen serie but no one in france seemed to ever heard of it or knew VHS of it existed.

another one that was very rare was elemantalist (elementalers spelling?). the only VHS i ever saw was a copy of copy of a copy of a copy of an original japanese VHS.

I'm going to have to go with Narue no Sekai (The World of Narue) and Doki Doki School Hours (Sensei no Ojikan). Nanaka 6/17 is another.

I'm surprised that I've seen a lot of the ones you guys have mentioned. Nice.

Well, depends on the definition of Rare - which seems to be as much an issue as the actual series on here

Only one I would claim as rare, and that because of how hard it was to even find a torrent, was the 1998 OVA of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. The quality isn't great, but I'm not sure if that's the encode or a result of the original source.

Just my .02 worth...

On Comcast cable systems in the US, Narue occasionally is telecasted as part of Comcast's "Anime Selects" On-Demand service. That's where I saw it; cute.

Out Of Print seems to be the worst part of finding anime .... it kind of disturbs me that this stuff doesn't fall into the public domain as soon as its out-of-print so that people can preserve it.

Took me quite a long while to find even one piece of Kimagure Orange Road on the net to see why it was so liked.

It was also a fair task tracking down an actual DVD (though I suspect its a bootleg, it does actually have an english dub as well as japanese original track&englishsubtitles) of Tsukikage Ran.

aaaaaaagh! I just want a boxset or something! And before you say it, I never watch Anime episodes on the Internet. It goes against my nature and I prefer to buy them honestly with money. Haha seriously, I have spent, like, over £400 on Anime boxsets, volumes and Movies. Obsessed or what?? XP

Shonan Junai Gumi: Anime OVA based on the prequel to GTO. I don't think this OVA has any ratings on ANN and I've only found it on crunchyroll.com.

It's quite funny though the serious moments are a bit clumsily handled. The OVA tries to compress too much and it handicaps the show's potential emotional impact. However, the jokes are hilarious and Onizuka's still awesome.
