Has anyone read the Simoun novels? (not the Manga)

I wouldn't say that I am huge into anime, but I have certain ones I love. Simoun is one of them. Usually if I like an anime enough I will want to read the manga as well. But sometimes, as is the case with Heroic Legend of Arslan, they haven't been translated to english.

I discovered the other day, after re-watching Simoun series, that there were two "light novels" written after the Hime manga, by Junko Okazaki. Both rounding out around 200 pages each. I could not find much information on these other than they supposedly followed the story closer and had not been translated to English (I can't read Japanese unfortunately).

So, I was curious if someone here has actually read them or knows where I can find a good review of the books. If you have seen the series and read the books how would you compare them?

Thanks muchly,
-M
