Really enjoyed Sawashiro Miyuki's (Shion's voice actress) work this episode, her voice is pure sex. She totally needs more screentime Although can't shake off the feeling that Mika is going to get one of the lesbian couple get killed and soon and speaking of Mika lol@no one giving a damn about her opinions

So Akane decided to let Kamui go this time....Sigh, that's a decision I think she will regret later. Great action in the latest episode though. I like how the team was able to end that little game by thinking outside the box.

The most frustrating thing for me about this episode is that it's established that the MWPSB could see that Shusui was alive and had a Dominator and that Kamui could use it.

Couldn't they ban her usage of it and avoid all of this?

Also, Mika's lack of development is getting pretty old, pretty fast.

No. It was a complete and random ass-pull. I'm curious whether rewatching the old series would prove this number to be incorrect or not.

Yeah, seriously. They're really making it hard to enjoy when everything could be avoided if Sibyl just took their brains out of their asses.

Also, more than half way through and we don't even really see an end goal in sight.

The story is getting damn stupid really fast. They've had several criminals with low coefficients already but they still haven't armed themselves with regular handguns. Drones can shoot anyone they want, and they're easier to hack than dominators. Akane hasn't ordered Sybil through her dominator yet, which is like having a deus ex machina in your pocket and not pulling it out. Akane just let Kamui escape, with a bunch of dominators, after he just committed mass murder.

Finally, I get the feeling that Mika will do something in the coming episodes that will explode my psycho-pass to over 9000.

Fucking Urobuchi...

Knowing Urobuchi, I wouldn't be surprised if he got them to make it stupid on purpose, just to fuck with the viewers.

Any specific reason as to why Akane stopped Togane? Also as if Togane wasn't creepy enough he wants to "paint Akane black" which most likely means he wants to cloud her hue as much as possible.

No I am pretty sure it never was. I actually think the episode last season when they went to investigate that factory alone would disprove that.

The problem really could be solved that easily. I know Kamui is trying to expose the systems's flaws but half of these weaknesses are because they system seems to have no common sense.

Biggest disappointment of the year. Fuck you makers. Bring back Urobutcher

Even halfway in season one, we had an idea of what Makishima's intent was. I still don't know exactly how killing people left and right helps Kamui's cause other than, 'BE FREEEEEEEEEEEE FROM SYBIL'.

I'm also not sure what exactly Tougane's problem is, other than...is he in love with Akane or something?

Bring back Kogami. Without him, the magic between him and Akane is gone. Still love Akane and Gino, but the new characters are awful. Cousin Oliver ruined this show. Hell Makishima was a better villian...

Yeah, I had faith until this episode, but honestly this season is kind of a mess. Lame villain, boring new characters, ridiculous plot devices, weird pacing, actually too much action for a detective thriller.

Seems i was right with my eye transplant theory :P

Togane intentions seems to corrupt Akane, like some people enjoy dragging the purest persons into the mud. No sure if he has any relation with Kamui or its a Sybil agent went incognito but seems unlikely. Seems the oposite of Rikako, while she found art while molding people bodies, he finds art on molding people minds, the purer they are the more valuable the material to his "art" is. Maybe is that why his criminality peak was so high since he as an artist need an special stimuli to be properly motivated and he found one in Akane Tsunemori and before then he wasnt motivated and his criminality went down to a more reasonable level

About the weapon issue, the few persons that are inmune to the system are valuable resources to Sybil and they dont want a gung ho enforcer shoot them to death. Their survival is worth plenty of other lives. Also that "weakness" is not know and they dont want to make it public since it could lead to more questions

About the Dominator limit I dont think it was ever stated, but could mean that it can fire 3 kill shots on rapid succession while still being able to use no lethal mode, or that the gun overheats after 3 straight kill shots and needs a bit of cooldown to be used again.

Also could mean that weapon is useless after 3 kill shots wich would make it even suckier in case of considerable number of targets no matter how many inspector (which arent many btw) or enforcers(which are dieing like bugs on this season) are.

About why they couldnt track Shisui and Kamui sooner it might be due to Kamui hiding place being designed to nullify waves akin to certain buildings where radio and mobile transmitions are not possible or just have too much of a interference such as being on a deep underground

The whole script of this season is built on plot holes:
- Sybil not being here at all without any valid reason is laughable, like a collective conciousness wouldn't feel the need to respond to an obvious threat.
- So the gun are so protected even a ghost can't hack them but no one/nothing disable Shusui's gun because fuck you we need it for the "plot".
- In today's episode they could have just disabled the cell phones towers (or just the one on the base) and solved the problem. It would also have avoided a massive trauma of peoples.

Also is there any point in proving right the obvious about the weaknesses of Sybil ?
"Inspectors can be judged": Some of them ended up enforcer
"MWBSP can't deal with huge amounts of clouded people": They are clearly too few for that so if you take out the drones...

No, but it does work on electricity, It's actually already an asspull to be able to shot plasma with it without overheating/damaging the gun and the one holding it .
By the way this "anti-material" shooting mode go completely against the concept of the dominator itself since it allow them to shot without scanning someone.

Akane not asking sybil to modify her gun so it can shoot on anything continues to be the biggest plot failure. Season 2 would be over right now

Remember that Sybil is actually interested on how Kamui actions will help them to evolve. Simply the damage done is still within aceptable levels

About the gun disabling sounds like a plot hole but could also be explained that Sybil is actually letting them due to the reason above. Also they dont want to show all of their cards (seems that only Sybil system itself can stop the dominator from working)

Reemmber that server was military level, they didnt have the time to shut it down and probably they lacked the permits to shutdown comunications before the shit hit the fan, actually what they did is a damage control.
To entirely crack a military grade system would have meant hours at the very least, and same with shutting down the comunications in the area, theres not a convenient on/off button, they would have to ask for an official order then order the company, and then the company shutdown the area, and meanwhile the birds would have eaten at least most of everyone bloody remains

Also the cracked Dominator from the first season was one time only. theres no way that Sybil would have let Akane use it after the Makishima crysis. Remember that even then Sybil said to Akane to NOT use suspicious situations near someone else, since it could lead to questions which Sybil doesnt like

I hadn't actually thought it'd be made so relevant in this series, but I've seen the following figures around on the internet for months:

Paralyser : unlimited
Eliminator : 4 shots
Decomposer : 3 shots

The oldest comment I've found on it so far (5 minutes of searching) is from Feb 2013:

"According to the novels, it's only got 3 Decomposer shots. It's an issue of the battery, apparently."

(By-the-by, I didn't go looking for these figures out of curiousity. I was actually trying to find out if someone had made a count of how many times each Dominator mode had been used in the previous series. But in terms of numbers, the information about the number of shots the Dominator can fire is what kept coming up... Anyways, if anyone has made a tally, could you please post it somewhere? Though I suppose I could just make one when I finally watch the first series again...)

P.s. the novels are canon, btw...

The death count is rather high for early on in this series, but that in itself is not an inherent problem. We could use a little more detective work or compelling characters other than Akane, to be sure, but in light of the explosions and blood shed, some important questions have been posed in the last few episodes that no one seems to want to answer. I will bring them to light:

"What is the Sibyl system's answer for crimes being committed with a clear Psycho-Pass?"

Posed in the last season as well, with no clear answer. We saw the citizens' uprising in being terrorized by the helmet-bearing criminals, and we also saw Akane come in clutch with the helmet to the dome of Makishima, two responses that clearly aren't written in the book of order. What we didn't see was the Ministry lifting a finger to solve this problem. Had Shinya not done the dirty work at the end, it is likely that Shogo would have escaped capture again, forcing the system to answer him outside of their means.

As a matter of fact, the aftermath of Shogo's crimes seems to have been swept under the rug altogether -- the system neither changed nor addressed its holes. I'm guessing and hoping we'll discover why later.

...or perhaps now, since we're having this problem again, sans the helmets. If we're paying attention to the chief's responses to Akane's concerns, it's pretty clear at this point that the reason the system has not answered this outcry is that they're more concerned for self-preservation than the people's welfare. But wasn't that always the game?

Question #2: "What is Sibyl's response to crimes committed unknowingly?"

Presumably, this one is to be answered by the very next episode. Area stress is rising because the people are just now realizing what they've done. Hopefully, we aren't just going to raise our Dominators at them and book them all, but anything can happen at this point.
__________________________

Another thing I wanna say is, Doc is saving our asses. If it weren't for his insight, we'd still be twiddling our thumbs in the face of mass murder. It's refreshing to have an intelligent character lead the way in Shinya's absence. Not sure if I want to include Akane in that group, since while it's clear her detective skills have improved considerably, her decision-making capabilities have not. Even after a full season, we still can't trust her to face off against the main villain.

The death in this series might be overused to a point that it weakens the significance. Compared to the first season, Urobuchi includes death of characters that we feel for and impacts the story. So far what we seen in this season, there is a lack of such usage. However, it probably might be too early to tell.
