Yura continues her downward spiral. As memories of middle school continue to haunt her into the Stella School Festival, she takes yet another chance of holding a gun to sate her thirst for victory, at the cost of losing even more friendship points from Sonora.

However, I think the worst culprit for this episode is none other than Rento, whose pet lobster caused much of the property damage and the club's loss of budget.

Next episode's gonna be the 24-hour tournament. Shall we see a friendly fire scenario on the way?

After episode 5, I'm just going to drop this show. The characters are just as bland as they could get. The story seems to go no where, and everything seems like its poorly executed.

Yura is swiftly becoming an overachiever, and I'm sure it'll come back to haunt her real soon, because, as Sonora pointed out, she loses sight of what goes on around her. And if the next battle goes just like the one they lost before, Yura will lose all of her covers and be forced to go one-on-one again, and even if she doesn't choke up, she'll get hit once she stops focusing on her surroundings. Pretty sure Sonora (and possibly the other girls) is gonna be mighty pissed about that when it happens.

Maybe, but they did a poor job of showing it. It's not Sonora's, or Yura's, job to look after every little thing, and it's not like a kid running into someone is so dangerous you have to drop everything to see if no one was hurt. I know we're supposed to feel leery about Yura's victory at all cost mentality, but I have real problems feeling sorry for Sonora there.

Showing what exactly?

And who said anything about feeling sorry for Sonora? And what for?

That she lost to Yura.

I mean, that seems to be what they're going for. Yura's so overeager she loses sight of her surroundings, isn't being a good friend or fair play, whatever. And poor Sonora's on the receiving end, losing her spotlight after having trained Yura... I'm pretty sure we're supposed to sympathize with her.

I don't think so. Sonora couldn't care less about losing to Yura. She wasn't upset about that, and that scene was trying to make the audience feel sympathetic or anything imo. If Sonora is upset, which I'm not sure she is, is because she's noticing Yura's starting to care more about winning than about having fun. Having fun above all else, whether you win or lose, has always been the main point in this series imo.

Then why did she put a damper on Yura's victory by cutting her off to go check on a child? It looked to me like we were supposed to find her morally superior for being concerned about the child rather than the game. It just made her look like a sore loser to me.

She went to check on the child because she was actually concerned.

I wouldn't say superior. But yeah, clearly what Sonora did is supposed to be the right thing to do (and I personally agree).

Why? The child wasn't crying. She just ran into someone, which has to happen pretty often and is pretty harmless. More importantly, that someone is one of her club mates - she can look after the kid.

I think we're supposed to think her concerned with Yura's fall to the dark side. But in this instance, it rings false.

All that's true, but she was concerned anyway. Are you going to criticize her because she cares?

Something like that, yes...

What can I say. You'll have to deal with it, I suppose.

But that's the thing. When she's concerned without reason, it looks like she's angling for a (fake) moral victory when she couldn't get an actual victory.
