The animation quality really improve this week,there're still some sloppy part but it look good overall especially with the backgrounds.
I would be happy if they have this quality for every episode.

And JC did a nice job I guess although I never like that bit of deus ex machina in Kud ending.

In all seriousness though, this is one of the few times I've seen where a lot of worry about a far-away friend and a teary-eyed reunion makes 100% sense.

I thought they did a pretty good job. Made more sense than the VN version.

I've always think the reason why she was naked is because she got raped.

To be honest, I actually thought the VN of the scene where Kud was chained up was better than the Anime - but that was probably because of the time constraints.

Spoiler for Comparison:

Riki's desperation, and Kud's despair was far more vividly painted within the VN. In comparison, the Anime version just flew by too fast to really develop those two critical emotions to Kud's route. I don't feel Kud's despair, I don't feel Riki's desperation, and those were the two things that really stood out to me in the VN version of this episode. As a result, I felt nothing until the point about Gears and the world. Which was thought provoking, to say the least.

Then again, with only fifteen minutes or less for that scene where Kud was hanging nude in that cave, it's very hard to compete with one and a half hours of game material. Still, I gave it 8/10. I guess it works better for an anime original viewer.

Actually, the animators were hiding Kud's nakedness very well until she emerged from that cave. I wonder whether this is deliberate censorship, and I suspect the BDs will be more explicit.

I'm impressed with how this route was done.

Spoiler for VN comparison:

The VN had a large emphasis on romance between Riki and Kudryavka, and the part where Kud returned to her country was told almost entirely from Riki's point of view. We VN readers only got a few hints of what actually happened, and the rest was guesswork; even whether Kud's mother survived was a big question mark. Removing the romance took out a lot of sweet scenes, but the anime made up by replacing them with the events that Kud experienced herself, instead of spending time on Riki worrying. I really appreciate how the staff took advantage of the different medium to improve on the story, which now feels all the more complete to me.

Finished the visual novel today. Whew.... Quite the ride.

That was actually pretty good, even if the reality of the situation was kinda "wut."

... was with Kud the whole time, wasn't it? It didn't make any sense when Riki said it was from her mother's spaceship. So Tebwa was trying to put down a rebellion, but took the time to air mail a piece of the debris her mother might have died in to Japan? This is one of the weird times where "KEY magic" actually causes something to make more sense

I'm fine with the magical realism stuff. After Mio's arc, all bets were off anyway, and Rin's cats keep delivering messages (probably from Kengo or Kyosuke) that hint at the source of the magic.

The ED is "Alicemagic" so maybe it's a reference to Alice in Wonderland? Well.. Riki is pretty girly, but who is he supposed to follow down the rabbit hole? I know he's got a dog girl and a cat girl in his harem so far, but no rabbits.
