I've heard good things about the game, and I'll probably check the anime as well, so I want to see how promising they gonna handle the plot.

Actually, if this series proves to be a success, I wonder if that might then lead to other related works, like BlazBlue: Phase 0, being given anime adaptations in turn.

I just hope the overwhelming cost for voice actors don't lower the quality of the anime.

I don't recall that the hiring costs of seiyuu's were that costly in japan and there are plently of lesser known seiyuu's in the cast.

Sweet, I'm really stoked for this one. When they dub it, I hope they get the original English voice actors.

The plot of the game is like anime the game and kind of spread out along all the characters story mode routes where there are some gag events but also canon events. It'll be interesting to see how they tie it all together. I foresee some pretty major popularity for Rachel, Ragna and Noel especially for first timers.

Veteran seiyuu cost more - that's why every 4-5 years or so, you get a new generation people that shows up all the time, while the veterans don't show up as often (at least not leading roles). Mitsuishi Kotono complained years ago about how that kills the business as studios are too cheap to only hire the cheaper newcomers. Thus they don't get the experience by having the veterans around to learn from, which ultimately lowers the quality.

Just Ishida and Kiyokawa combined should cover a big chunk of the bill. Granted they don't show up until later, if at all, but then you still have big names like Sawashiro, Saito Chiwa, Sugita, Nakamura, and Y.Aoi whom easily have 10+ years of experience and are still popular. In other words, big bucks.

Perhaps they don't cost a lot (I don't know any numbers), but anime companies don't have big budgets, unlike game developers and movie studios. Those are the people who can afford veterans since they have a bigger budget - and thus veterans seiyuus shows up in those places more. Just look at Yamadera Koichi - crowned as one of the best seiyuu out there, popular in the 90s - but you don't see him in much anime these days. He's in animated movies, games, movie/drama dubs, and MC for TV shows instead.

I pretty much agree with Noel, Rachel, and Ragna being popular for first timers too, I also see Taokaka would too but her's might be more polarized than the other 3.

It's not like they spend every episode with every characters on it, so the cost is more or less spread out for the entire cour barring several important episodes where all characters show up.

I wonder how much focus Bang may get in this. I won't be surprised if he's regulated to only a comedy relief character. His importance in the story hasn't been made apparent until very recently in the games after all.

Each character in Blazblue is so flawed that there will be as many haters as fans. I don't think that will change with first timers.

I'd rather gag events not to show up. Either make it story driven and serious like DeSu2 or make it fun with minimal story like Sengoku Basara.

Bang provided a unique POV during Ikaruga War. He's much better of than say Taokaka and Tager. But his screentime really depends on how many episodes the anime gets as there might not be enough time to cover every character in detail.

Now seriously, if the plot manages to be anything other then a disaster, I will be very surprised.

Yeah, I suppose if there's any character with less importance than Bang, it's Taokaka.

I'd have to disagree with Tager though. In Calamity Trigger, he was the main character to gave us a decent look into the current workings of Sector Seven, and they're a pretty significant organization in the series.

This is going to be the Ragna show, to a lesser degree Noel and Jin as well, don't expect much more.

Most likely they will use most of the "recontructed Calamtiy Trigger story " that was in Continuum Shift Extend while also giving a slight more focus on the other characters

It would actually be pretty neat if they included some of those segments, maybe post ending theme, or even as extras on the physical release. Some of those are downright hilarious.

Makes sense, but Jin and Noel are greatly connected to Ragna and each other in most ways. I know focusing on many important characters at once is time consuming, but they are integral to the main plot after all, to name a few. Plus, shouldn't Noel have a share of equal importance to Ragna due to her being the main heroine and all.
