If Haiji is a real person, independent from Hazama's mind, then Haiji is basically a Joker-type villain. What I mean by that is that the battle with the Great Hero is very personal to him, and he's motivated by a very twisted love of the Great Hero. Obviously it's a very twisted love because he wants to do considerable harm to the hero, but it's also about hoping that the rivalry brings out the best in both of them, and becomes epic unto itself.

Haiji is very different from The Joker in other ways, but in this respect, he's a lot like the Clown Prince of Crime. He wants Samurai Flamenco to be his Batman, essentially.

So, did anyone else think of this when Masayoshi questioned himself at the very end?

Pretty good episode though. So we're taking the whole psychological ending huh? outta be interesting.

Still praying for Masayoshi x Sumi.

That doesn't make sense isn't Haiji a part of Masayoshis mind playing tricks on him as an effect of a perfect world? I expect it to be more of a Fight Club scenario.

While it's fun to explore both alternatives, the message of how heroes influence each of us differently could turn out to have more impact. This is like KT 2.0 and a lot more sinister

And... yep, Haiji does appear to be a Joker-type villain! Maybe with a dash of Lex Luthor to give him greater sanity and a very careful sociopathy. Not to mention that some versions of Lex killed his parents, and it looks like this may be true for Haiji as well.

Interesting that the very concept of love was pretty much lost on Hazama up to this point. I guess that's somewhat understandable given the lack of parents in his life, and this lack of love also helps to explain the lack of romance in his life. I really have to feel for Sumi there - Explaining love to someone you clearly have a crush on must feel pretty awkward.

And yeah, I definitely think that Sumi has a big crush on Hazama, and I hope that Hazama's love epiphany might pave the way to a deeper relationship between the two of them.

I liked the M3 concert at the beginning, as it's been a long time since we experienced something like that from M3's perspective. I also liked the execution of Haiji's toxic attack on two of M3.

On the whole, a very nice episode that is yet another case of Samurai Flamenco making excellent, balanced used out of its full cast. I think I like where they're going with this new love theme of sorts, and it could be a good way to end things off (along with a climatic struggle against the new villain). The parallelism between Haiji and King Torture is good, and should make a good basis for showing how Samurai Flamenco has grown as a character (i.e. I'm hoping that Haiji is defeated in a different and less lethal way than King Torture was).

You're not the only one Triple_R I see it too. Hopefully Masayoshi does have that love-epiphany soon. Sumi is also the only remaining person, aside from Konno, that Sawada hasn't gone after yet.

Poor Hazama, the flamenco that didn't know how to love. Two episodes ago I thought the very idea HazamaXSumi was absurd, but now that it's happening, I'm on board that ship.

What, you don't want him to tear Haiji's heart off his chest like it was an 80's ova?

I'm legitimately surprised that Haiji hasn't transformed into a monster yet or started wearing his own Dark Samurai Flamenco suit. At least Joji was able to confirm that he's real, and not just a figment of Masayoshi's imagination, with his Axe ears and eyes .

So I guess the true source of Haiji's power is that he had his wish, to become someone worthy to battle against Samurai Flamenco, granted by the Will of the universe through chanting "Flamenco" multiple times. He's essentially turned himself into an interesting and crazy being to match the crazy and interesting world inhabited by a crazy and interesting hero .

I wonder if Masayoshi is going to get a new Samurai Flamenco suit to go after Haiji, or just go in his casual clothes? Actually, considering the finale is titled "Samurai Flamenco, Naked!" I could see a repeat of episode 1 happening, which would be both hilarious and fitting to close out the series .

Mizuki and Moe .

That, coupled with Goto getting kidnapped, is probably going to be enough to get Mari to become Flamenco Girl again to try and get some payback against Haiji. Hopefully it goes better than her encounter with King Torture .

Joji's words about how true heroes need love, and Sumi's speech about the power of love and how it can be a double-edged sword, was nice to see. Honestly, I could either see her words to Masayoshi as evident that she has some legitimate romantic feelings for him, or that, like she said, her love isn't necessarily romantic but that she does love him in a way and that extends to how she cares for him as a manager. Though whatever is the case, I have a feeling that the love Masayoshi is going to discover will directly relate to one person, and I doubt it'll be Sumi. I also wasn't expecting Masayoshi to have been a heartbreaker in high school .

Poor Soichi. He wants to be a part of Joji's family so badly, but Lady Axe prefers the smart guys. At least he's still got the TV show with Joji to fall back on .

I've got to admire Sakura's continued persistence in pursuing Joji, and the lengths Lady Axe will go to try and dissuade her .

I almost can't believe the show is ending next week. Samurai Flamenco has certainly been a wild and fun ride, and I'll definitely really miss it and the cast. Here's hoping the show can close out with a bang with some awesome superhero action, and that we can finally get to meet "her" .

I feel that since this is a parallel of King Torture arc, Mari might get in the middle of Haiji and Goto and get shot making her story arc go full circle and showing she's changed, at the same time Goto sees her make that sacrifice (of course she'll live) and stop his self-inflicted pain and throws away his cell phone or something similar that shows he was able to finally come to terms with what happend to his girlfriend and realize the are others that care about him. Of course both end up together (unlike most people I don't hate her).

As for Masayoshi vs Haiji, I can't tell it can go in many different ways. All I hope for is for Masayoshi and Sumi to end up together.

(Flamenger attacks.) The Universe is one tricky bastard, but I love this new plot point. I'm kinda sad that this only has two episodes left.

A second theory is that Haiji is indeed real, but due to special conditions/circumstances, he's only "existent" in Masa's eyes.
Turns out, both of these were correct. Haiji is indeed real, but his existence is special & he can clearly control his existence. He can appear before you if he chooses, as shown with Goto or he can remain undetectable to anyone who doesn't possess superhuman senses, such as with Joji.

Well, this was a very interesting episode to say the least. Triple R was on the mark with saying Haiji's a Joker-type villain.

Two of MMM's members are down & Mari looked like she was gonna step in. That said, for some reason, I think she took the bullet for Goto in the cliffhanger. I'll have to wait a week to see though.

Goto got baited into an obvious trap, but that was necessary since Masa's relationship with Goto seems to have the most weight atm. So using him to lure out Masa was indeed a smart move, using everyone else as stimulus for his mind games, saving Goto for last was indeed the cherry on top. Haiji really did his home work on how to be a damn good villain.

Masa getting very important advice from Joji made up for the slice of life part of the episode, so that was nice. Even with all the psychological warfare taking place, they still found room to effectively place a life lesson like that in. Sumi perfectly conveyed & completed the message/advice/life lesson of Joji & gave further exposition on it & even gave Masa an unintentional hint on how to deal with Haiji. All the boy needs is love.

Masa needs to arrive at an answer himself to figure out what is his love & then he can properly resolve this. I'm also hoping the shipping gets a nod because next week is the finale, I really hope MasaSumi becomes canon.

Well guys, next week is the finale & lets hope it ends with a bang.

It's interesting how people were commenting on the lack of girls going after Masayoshi a few weeks back, which was unusual for a main character...and it turned out to be an important plot point, i wasn't expecting that.
I don't think Sumi has a crush on him though; it's possible that she likes him, but if that's the case she didn't realize she sees him that way yet.

Kaname's speech was kind of cheesy (as expected from him), but still, true.

I found it very funny that in Moe's mind, Mari is the one who saved the world with a little help from Samurai Flamenco

I have to wonder how she imagines the whole deal with King Torture and From Beyond went down compared to what actually happened .
