WOO

! ^_^

Well let's hope they do it right. I count on all you guys to tell me what the dubbing and all is like!! And if they do it right I might save up the gigantic amount of money needed to buy it (and ship it)!

I'm so glad this great show isn't going to be DVD-only - if it's airing on Anime Network, ALL OF YOU MUST GO WATCH IT!

That's the end of Princess Tutu fansubs being distributed then...

Edit: Reading what Secca said, I am so relieved someone like Disney or 4Kids didn't take it... this show is not for kids okay! (Except maybe the first season!)

haha yes, actually me too. it's just the series was so musical and stuffs and it just seem right on their alley.

Actually I really have no idea who will be better handling this series. I just hope ADV will do a good job, because I really love this series. ^^

Imagine if Disney got Princess Tutu, they'd have to rename "Fakia" to "Fakir" with the english pronounciation: fay-keer (if I'm not wrong) ... because "Fakia" sounds too much like f***-ia... stupid reason but it's viable!!

I hope ADV doesn't do that to my all-time favourite character or there will be bloodshed.

EDIT: Is there a link to this news, by the way? I will kill you if you're pulling a joke on us. April Fools has long passed.

Today they showed a preview of it at their panel, but I got kicked out because the room was full.

I just started downloading this two days ago, and only got to see up to episode 8. I went to get more today, and it wasn't there . Now I have to wait years, possibly, for this to come out here in the USA!!! I was enjoying it so much...

It was an exaggeration. They said it should be released this fall, I believe.

Espeically since it's ADV. They're a big ol' machine, purring along.

Say, for anyone who's watched a lot of ADV-released stuff, do you know if they have the tendency to screw up anything? And have they done mahou-shoujo/classical-themed anime before?

ADV tends to be a bit overeager, but they never screw up an anime the way Nelvana or 4Kids does. Recently they have been becoming much smarter with their translations. Dubs are typical dub quality.

ADV is known for sitting on a license for years before they actually release it. Still, it sounds like this series will be given high priority, so it should be released in a timely fashion.

ADV has become better at...well, not sitting on licenses
they do have a bit of business savvy: released the Azumanga Daioh animealmost immediately after the final volume of the manga is released
we can count on ADV not totally borking up any of these new licenses...their translators are somewhat better, the one that did Azumanga Daioh even has a decent sense of humor

All they played was the OP video. Didn't give any ather info about the show. Other than: the license may or may not include the specials.

I was really happy when I heard. ^_^ I was afraid that Princess Tutu would be overlooked... or edited for the wrong audience. The storyline is mature, but the individual elements (fairy tales and ballerinas and all) are very little-girlish. But I'm sure that ADV will give it the proper treatment it deserves! )
