Hmm...port 443? Strange...to read/post on AS all you need is access to port 80.

He is referring to the fact that many BitTorrent trackers are currently using port 443 now because port 6969 is getting blocked. If he has a problem with the port, then he won't be able to use several of the most prominent trackers. If he can't download anime with BitTorrent, then he doesn't have much reason to be here.

OK, let my explain a little:

Port 443 is worldwide assigned to be the port for SSL and HTTPS-Transfers.
On most professional Firewalls, all other Traffic over this port will be blocked. If you are behind such a Firewall in a Company (like me), you can't use Trackers using this port.
Our Web-Admin will not open this Port for other kind of traffic because of the fear for security breaches.
I can use any other Non-Standard Port, (like 440 and so on) but not 443.

I know other Places for Downloading Animes, but Animesuki was one of the best. But now...

On other Downloadsides there are often illegal downloads, which i don't like. I'm a follower of the rules about licensing.

No, i'm downloading them at work. It's allowed to use the Internet for pivate things in my company, as long as we are not pruducing too much traffic (and as long as we do not forget to do our work ). So if i use BT at night or on Weekends, all is OK.

Me agrees in IRC you can pretty much get all the anime and in some cases with greater speed than BT.
Also i wouldn't left animesuki forums just because the BT doesnt work, this is nice to know a lot about anime and other stuff as well.

I said in some cases not all of them
Also it only takes a lot of time if all the bots with the episode you want have all their queues full otherwise it's fast, unfortunately that's a case that happens on the more popular shows.

There are shows that are more popular than others(For example the ones that have their own forum), these ones may be harder to download than some others no?

Hmmm... the regular BT ports are blocked on campus. Does this mean that i can use port 443 instead? Or is that just the port for the tracker?

This port is chosen by the tracker. You have no power over it.
