I'm on a wireless network, and I'm getting really crappy download speeds, usually less than two kbps. I'm wondering if anyone can help me and let me know if there is anything specific that I need to do because of my wireless network.

You need to forward BitTorrent ports from the wireless router to your computer, if you haven't done so already.

Also, make sure your computer is right close to the wireless hub
