The point is to be comedic, think less in a corner and more running wildly in fear while meteors rain down.

Sadly it has the downside of having a 5% chance of teleporting him anywhere in 10km radius once a minute (if he isnt transported in a day then there added 5% to chance of teleporting which resets when he teleport,) and is permanently bound to him so he can only remove it to repair it. If it's an item with level 50 stats, wouldn't he have to be level 50 before he could equip it?

And really, if you want him to travel around the world, you don't need that cloak. The fairy rings are still working, you just don't know where you'll end up.

The thing is that you could do that with a mid to high level! Remember that players have gone from a mouse & keyboard game to a all full new reality, so not everyone have the balls of steel to wrestle a 2.5 meters tall minotaur in person, a clothie cleric female or G.I.R.L much less so. It's also in the personality of the character, maybe he was a dirty coward who felt safe as long as he was in a group with people telling him what to do and was chilling in his Geekcave until he got snatched to a world similar to the MMO he was playing.

Some Summoners don't even have the balls to summon their own Skeleton Servants....

Even for role-players.... the effect of real undead are really creepy....
=

Suggestion for other type of Comical Players:

A player who still think it is all a dream (despite of waking up multiple times) and decide to go all out (of control). Like certain Fuuko from Disgaea.....

Player who do serious things (disturbing local politics by making things go off the rail) for lol and Giggle.... (yea.... the Cult Leader create the Laquniess cult because it amuse him.)

Make an army and go all Rider (Fate/Zero) on everybody's ass. Gather an Army of Loyal warriors and CONQUER THE WORLD!! Need to be a big Ham.

Well think of Soujiro's reaction in his spin-off manga. He was like "Awesome! I'm in the game" but since it's Armani being a noob he does a lot and makes a lot of comedic situations out of it. Also he joined the raid cuz he saw a lot of hot guys joining also and he was allowing as a part of the raid had the condition of "boss's special attack target weakness adventurers for 10-50% of their max HP" meaning having a lot of noob makes for great meat shields.

Actually, lowbies make terrible meat-shields. They take up valuable raid slots (which, mind, are limited) and die in one hit. There's absolutely zero reason for a raid leader to take low levels in place of high levels.

That's not to say you can't have a story about a low-level character bumbling around, just that you should keep the story centered around low-level aspects, not throw in hard to explain high-level ones. I can see you're trying really hard to justify this guy being taken to raids, but it just comes of as trying too hard to justify it. You should take a step back and look at the concept. What is the story you're trying to tell?

Is it the story of a newbie bumbling around with wide-eyed ignorance?

Or is it the story of an adventurer who sets out to explore this vast, now real world?

The former you can tell without Phantasmal items gained from improbably raid scenarios. The later could have acquired such items naturally.

It's meant to be both, the phantasmal is meant to be a catalyst for rapid travel that unexpected and a source of many gags like "How does a noob have a phantasmal drop! Give it to me." Also raid wise, they were using Zerg tactics, using noobs to set off traps, scout for you, and exploit the bosses special nature, it is multiple raid groups not one.

Rapid Unexpected travel = Fairy Ring (you don't know where you will end up)

The reason why I avoid giving most of my character phantasmal grades item is because Phantasmal Item are sort of like rare and legendary items.... It's like that rare card you never get from a trading card game despite of knowing that it is there somewhere.

The same thing apply: It is better to give the Empty slot to players who can actually contribute to the boss fights.

Besides exactly how many N00bs are there in the party? Don't tell me one, because that it not going fly.

Also the raid party has to be seriously incompetent if they have to rely on newbies as canon fodder.

Whatever the Newbies are being used for, the Summoners could easily substitute with their summons...

And like Keroko mentioned: LOW LEVEL PLAYERS MAKE BAD MEAT SHIELD.

They die from normal attacks alone(you know attacks without cooldown and occur more often). Every single attack from the Boss is fatal so how can you even expect them to survive long enough to exploit the Boss' system?

Well the raid heads weren't the smartest/nicest of ppl. Basically them are there greedy guild rounded up anyone and everyone they could grab. Since there still is a "fear of death" using anyone lessens the overall chance of themselves dying and getting the loot. They sent 100s of players in Zerg waves while they themselves where spread evenly across the last waves, Armani was lucky enough to be in one of the last mid to low level zergs waves that was meant for recon and softening the targets. Basically if you were to equate age to level, the guild used child soldiers (like Hamelin.)
Also the phantasm drop is a joke item meaning it gives a lot more trouble than it's worse and he can't remove it limiting his growth gear wise as even Artifact-grade items could be considered better, it's only phantasmal in its rareness and quirkiness.

Edit: So I've decided to rehash my character and how he got his annoying phantasmal coat.

Spoiler for Here it is:

Why must it be both? As it stands now, trying to tell both stories with one character just ends up in a flimsy attempt to patch things together with tape (how does he even wear a Phantasmal cape from a level 90 dungeon? That thing would be way above his level, joke item or not).

Really, I suggest you drop the Phantasmal cape. It serves no direct story purpose that can't be told in another, less forced way. Fairy Rings still work even without that cape, it's entirely unneeded for him to have it if you want him to explore he world. The gags could instead be focused on him being a newbie and having no knowledge of MMO games, leading to many comical misunderstandings. Which would also be more varied than "He has a rare cape. Get him." A gag that will outstay its welcome rather swiftly.

Also, if a boss allows multiple raid groups, that generally means the encounter requires those multiple raid groups. Filling half your slot with newbies would still be hamstringing yourself.

I adjusted how he got to make it more comedic and not requiring him to have partake in the raid.

Character Name: Katze Laikanaiph (pronounced as "cuts like a knife")
Level: 75
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Assassin (melee)
Subclass: Bounty Hunter
Guild: Nasankaman (Filipino: "nasaan ka man", lit., "wherever you are")
HP: to be followed
MP: to be followed
Server: SEA

Items
Wasteland Business Suit - A Production-class set of clothing that resembles the attire the typical office worker wears, although creased up, dirty and tattered on the edges. Disregarding the average stats it gave, he chose the outfit because it simply looks cool.
Ripper's Gauntlet - Two light gauntlets that have a single-edged blade attached to it. The blades are installed such that it can be removed by the user with ease, but is strong enough to be used on parrying incoming attacks without being disarmed. A variety of daggers and short swords can be attached on this weapon, but switching to them is severely inconvenient in battle. In some cases, this weapon is called as the "Mega Man Gauntlet" because of its functionality.
Bony Abacus - An accessory made out of the skeletal remains of monsters. It carries the basic functions of a calculator and doubles as a trinket that weakens attacks from skeletal mobs against the owner. Trinket Walk also becomes twice as effective when equipped.

Background
Katze is Orix's long-time friend and the reason why Orix began playing Elder Tale. In the real world, Katze is an unemployed college graduate that was considering studying medicine until various real-life issues made him reconsider. Up until the Homesteading the Noosphere update, Katze has been exploring the content of Elder Tale with Orix and they have even shared some of the spoils of war with each other, although Katze often leaves the lore to his Cleric friend because it was uninteresting to him. One notable facet of the relationship between the two is how they prevent the other from quitting Elder Tale for good.

Following the events of the Catastrophe, Katze was forced to engage more in affairs with the Nasankaman guild, as do most well-organized guilds in Elder Tale, leaving Orix to face death in the midst of increasing PK activity in the player city of Manila. He eventually reunites with Orix in exploring, retaining their usual interactions. However, he is now all the more cautious about Theldessia, which he soon realizes is more than just a game setting to explore and pillage.

Skills Overview
When deciding for a class to use, Katze initially chose one of the Warrior classes because of the armor and weapons involved. He eventually shifted to the Assassin class because of the hype brought by the Assassinate skill in various videos displaying its might. Katze then initially learned skills for the Sword Dancer Assassin, but he regretted his decision when he began struggling in his fights due to an Assassin's poor survivability. Eventually, he moved to the path of the Shadow Blade, but continues to carry the burden of being a "failed" Sword Dancer.

Because of the presence of Blade Dancer skills in his Shadow Blade build, Katze managed to create a playstyle that combines the assassination techniques known to the Assassin with the parrying effect of the Ripper's Gauntlet, turning him into a Swashbuckler of sorts when forced to go melee. However, Katze truly shines when in the shadows, using mobility and stealth to tear down through mobs with ease.

Noted skills: Assassinate, Stealth Blade, Fatal Ambush, Silent Sniper, Accel Fang, Sweeper, Paralyzing Blow, Hiding Entry, Gust Step, Trinket Walk

Build: Shadow Blade with Blade Dancer skills
Signature Skill: Fatal Ambush
Overskill: Blade Sandstorm - Prolonged usage of Gust Walk and Accel Fang especially in dry terrain allows Katze to whip up a blinding storm of winds in the battlefield, creating a second layer of stealth for Katze to use for high-Hate attacks like Assassinate.

Blemy, in games these days, DON'T STAND IN BAD STUFF is already a lost art.

If a noob can flee from meteors and telegraphs popping left and right, I'd say he's just new and doing very well.

Note: One interesting fact that is not mentioned in the English Wiki:

Druid can talk to animal with a skill..... Reaching an understanding is impossible due to different thought process.

But being able to talk to animals, does make things a little more interesting.....

Player: Err... why are you talking to that Boar

Druid: Oh, I am just asking it for direction....

Player: ?! (Think that Druid has gone crazy)

=

Guru: "You know what is the most dangerous summon?"

Player: "Tiamat? Bahumut? Cockatrice?

*Guru point to a chicken*

Spoiler for Lethal Joke Summon:

Because not sure if it is an official class yet....

Druid's Nature Talk seems legit (found it from the Japanese Wiki), it was originally mean to boost Summons' (yes, Druid can summon animals) ability but after the disaster, they can use this skill to talk to animals.... However, conversation is difficult due to different thinking process.... Cat think like a Cat, Wolf think like Wolf, Human think like human.

===

Chicken is not official, just something I added for fun. Cat work just as well... in fact even better due to Night-vision and Sneak attack bonus.

However, Chicken not as threatening as Cat (since people eat Chicken rather than Cat.... they just assume that Chicken is not as dangerous)

Imagine a Boss seeing an army of summons (Skeletons, Golems...etc) and among the midst is a freaking chicken.... who slowly gorging your eyes out while the rest of the summon go down in one hit.

Your best option is attack the Summoner directly. The problem is: Can you still see the summoner with your eyes gorged out?

It's totally asking for trouble when you compare a Shrimp like Akatsuki to the Chicken as a praise rather than an insult.....

Medicine Man is an official class on the American server. Look at the oversea classes on Mamare's website. It's a replacement for druid(?) that's focuses more on communing with the "great spirit" (great reference)

It is not confirm yet... (you aren't even sure what class it is replacing).

Beside, it's freaking Medicine Man...

How crazy do you want him to be?

He is already wearing weird mask and swinging stuff to allegedly cure thing. That's is pretty crazy for me....

Edit:
Having a cold?

Medicine-man? Dekomori (from Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!): DEATH!
