Merry Christmas guys.


Below are my thoughs about 348 and this arc in general.

This chapter, no this whole arc is just So Bad Its Horrible. I mean really, after this chapter It dosen't matter how hard one tries to whine about their "good intentions" or whatever; this shit is way over the line. Remeber how some people were angry that Fate is jerk to the class? Well it turns out he was just smart because if you apparently show them any symphaty they'll assume they can get away with anything. Sad thing is - they are probably rigth.

But you know what? I'm not even blaiming the girls anymore. It's obvious to me now that they got hit with Jerk-ray that makes them act like totall douches regardless of their erlier characterization. I mean I can totally belive in Haruna and Yuuna doing it and even Chizuru and Ako going along with it but sorry Setsuna's involwment broke my Willing Suspension of Disbelief like a twig.

Seriously the girl that couple chapters ago said she's willing to let MW get destroyed and cut down anyone who would threathen Asuna is now hoding her at bladepoint? What the F*CK am I reading?!

Others mentioned the incredible size of Idiot Ball's needed for this chapter to work so I leave it at that for now.

Also I have nothing against Akira, she's a nice girl and I like her. but if it turns out that this whole arc was a big set-up for her pactio... I think I finally lose faith in Ken's sense of direction. Rigth now I still hope that there is some satysfing outcome to this arc that would justify half of volume spend on it.

still Akira...nodoka and yue might use a reverse questioning on Yuna and Haruna... like force them to confess their love for negi ^^ if they "wont" than it will mean that their pactio was made only to get the card and not from feelings for negi or desire to want to help and protect him... so the whole plan is useless and maybe even lead to cancel or suspend their pactios so their heads could calm down and so they could understand the meaning of pactio... since currently they think that they can do with it anything they want...they feel powerfull with those weapons and do harm to people and fool around with their feelings (takamichi-fake with asuna for example)

so a punishment for them is needed... it would be fun if negi had his own pactio... he could draw asunas sword and cancel stuff... or yuna's guns and shoot her with her own weapon xD and seal her pactio...


anywya my personal guess is that... Akira will take Yuna out... and nodoka and yue will take on haruna.... simply the Sport girls vs sport girls... and library girls vs library girls ^^... and negi might go against zazi or setsuna... after that we end this sport festival... and in c350 negi will reveal the truth about himself (and later about asuna)... see their reaction... and who will give up and who will follow even in negis current situation...

it would be fun if chizuru used the leek on yuna and haruna to hear their real intentions ^^

I think you hit the mark when it comes to whole problem with the arc:

It feels as if the only characters outside of Asuna with any common sense are Akira (who warns Negi about the incident), Chachamaru (who stops Chisame from using a strip beam on Negi) and Nodoka and Yue (who are willing to "play along" in this harem event, but show their true colors when the students go way to far). The fact that even Setsuna is siding with 3-A over Negi and Asuna shows that Ken Akamatsu either doesn't really have anything planned out after the Magic World arc (with him writing Unwanted Harem storylines to fill the required deadlines) or doesn't care at all about this arc as it only exists to pad things out until 350.

Face it: when characters act OOC, readers will notice!!! While Ken Akamatsu thankfully avoided character derailment when it comes to Nodoka and Yue (which was my biggest fear in terms of this arc), the fact that this is being done with Setsuna is pretty much be an insult to numerous readers.

Young, teen girls. That's ALL the explanation for this arc and the way Yuuna, Paru, and others are acting. They aren't adults yet and so they still have immature priorities.

Also don't forget to note that they might unconsciously tried to make Negi to have fun everyday life that they used to be after....well, all that >_>; It might not be an excellent idea, but I think I can relate to that.

Believe it or not, I feel that Setsuna was in-character, given what went on a few chapters before.

Konoka is a naughty gossip hound really.

That's why Setsuna is probably involved.

Natsumi's pretty much being forced along--she's not going to stand up to that crowd. Zazie's in it for Shits and Giggles, Kaede's always had a mischievous streak, Ako might be in the same boat as Natsumi (less sure on that one though).

Honestly the only girls that I would have a problem with their participation in this are...not participating (other than to 'defend' Negi).

Finally ... I hope Akira's time has finally come.

Hmph ... I hope this mini-arc ends soon. It's a little "over the top" for me....

And speaking of Fate, where is he now? Couldn't he have stopped all of this with an iron fist because of how strict he is?

You're comparing a life-or-death fight against a wanked existence in a terrain configured for Fate's advantage and a school festival on home turf?

Most likely he's occupied by something that forces him to not participate of something.

Probably because they had already levelled up after beating Fate Seriously though, it's more like the situation when they're fighting Negi is much better than when they're fighting Fate (more pactio user, Zazie's helping physically, etc)

Because Negi isn't out there for blood. Fighting to not injure your opponent is far harder than going all out with the intent to kill.

Most likely because he feels that this event is karma finally coming back to bite Negi in the rear.

A few problems here with this explanation:

1. We haven't even seen Konoka in action in this storyline yet, which makes the "Setsuna is doing it because Konoka's involved" suggesting invalid for now (even then, Setsuna should have some common sense her given what's about to happen to Asuna after graduation).

2. Even if Kaede is michievious at times, she still sees Negi as more of a little brother to look after (heck, outside of assisting Ku Fei when she kisses the fake Negi, she really didn't get involved in the Kiss Negi contest).

I'm kinda of the mindset that Negi needs to deliver a hard, flat verbal smackdown on these girls at this point. Not only is what they're doing completely selfish, they're violating their teacher's privacy on top of it.

Now of course, because of the nature of the manga they're gonna get away with it like nothing was wrong. But really, it WAS wrong. And as their teacher he should really call them out on it, and even put an end to this whole "crushing on Negi" thing because it's obviously gone too far.

Negi needs to bring out the chains, leather restraints and whips Eva can probably provide those.

Given how I've pretty much been having a "Battle Royale" style scenario invovling 3-A ever since I first began reading Negima, part of me prefers that once this mess is finished, Fate would confiscate the Pactio cards of the "bad" students and force them to take part in a "Battle Royale" situation where the last one left standing is the only one in that group who can either retain their Pactio or, if they haven't made one yet, be allowed to make one (as it's obvious that they've been abusing their artifacts).

As for who counts as a "bad" student, it would consist of those who fail to do the following (with examples of people who can be considered "good" because they did the following):

1. Be completely unaware of what 3-A was planning to do (Asuna and Ayaka)

2. Come to Negi's aide during this event (Akira, Chachamaru, Nodoka, and Yue)

3. Simply not get involved in this event whatsoever (not sure if anyone will do this, although I think Satsuki would probably the type that would fit this category).

Given how there's at least one chapter left, it's possible that Mana may get involved. However, I could see her as one of the "good" students who could come to the aide of either Negi/Akira or Yue/Nodoka (especially as someone who can handle Zazie).

I'm surprised Negi doesn't have any way to turn off the pactios connected to him. And also rather annoyed at how laidback Negi is about this, even if he does have a little amnesia about it. Turning your pactio artifacts against, using mind control on, and anally-violating your teacher is not cool. Negi ought to revoke their pactios (except Yue/Nodoka, because they switched sides and are my favorites <3).

They don't think he might change his mind about who he likes (if these "small feelings" really do count) after this mess? Nevermind that he clearly won't...
