That tells you again and again how FIFA is in serious need of implementing a protocol for dealing with head contacts and concussions. It's mind-boggling that all the studies on concussions in sports are there to be read and re-read again, but nothing's done in football.

I think Muller's reply is on the same level

I'm sorry - I thought that this was obvious by the way Müller said it

Sneaker is entirely correct - Müller was joking and totally overplaying his response. I just thought Schweinsteiger's assist was hilarious, since the reporter didn't get it.

I'm also _sure_ that Müller was still genuine. He couldn't care less about the Golden Boot, he was in it for the world championship title.

I'm mildly surprised to hear about Lahm, who would have had an outside chance to be a starter in Russia. But I guess he wanted to go out on top, and who can blame him?

Lahm was arguably the most important player on this run, though Muller and Noyer could make a hell of a case. When Low finally extracted his head from his nether regions and moved Lahn to fullback is when Germany really blossomed as a unit.

Lamh is 30 this year, he'll be past his prime by the time the next world cup comes along especially how he plays. With a world cup medal, a lot of the older players probably won't be there for the next World Cup as well as a lot of are close to 30 which is considered the point where you are past your prime (except for Klose but he's a goal poacher so stamina/speed is not a big issue).

The German team would probably have to revamp some of it's core with new/young players for the Euro if they want to have a better tested team for the next World Cup.

Klose will be almost 40 - even for him, that's too much.

Well, Milla had his best WC when he was 38, and scored in the next WC, in spite of being 42...
But of course, Milla was one of a kind
