Hell, it was during an important national exam for high-schoolers. And a tiny little minority was late.
And nationwide ? The worst ?Yeah yeah yeah everyone was sooooooo affected. But it's always interesting to see how others countries picture us.

To avoid a message off topic, I wonder how serious Rail Wars will be. Seems like in the synopsis some no joking matters will happen. But with our MC being like he's, I have some difficulty to see that coming.

Evidently, this little gang will get involved in all sorts of crazy shit if plot summaries are to be believed.

Considering episode 1 (usually the best episode) has 4 directors and 8 animation supervisors yeah ...

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?
There's also another error during the gun scene (Takayama's muffler headphone disappeared).

Well besides those hiccups, was a really fun episode for me. The fact that the characters are all named after stations like D-frag is super cool; that and this is Passione's first serious work, so I'm hoping this do decently at least. Newcomers are always welcomed after all. Studio also has a cool logo.

Already looping the ED; love the storyboard for the entire sequence.

Regarding the setting:

At some anime other discussion...
Anime-watcher A: What? Why does this show have this typical plot-line? Damn, today there is no originality at all when it comes to story premise! Always the same story line over and over...
Anime-watcher B: I guess so...

At Rail Wars anime discussion...
Anime-watcher A: What? Action anime in trains? How much more absurd can the setting become...
Anime-watcher B: Dude, didn't you say something about originality in that other thread? You are hard to please...

Luckily the amount of such people is generally low here at animesuki...

-----------

Regarding Fanservice:
How can there be people that say that there is "a lot of fanservice"? No matter how I look at it, the amount of fanservice was quite low compared to most other anime with fanservice... Of course if any kind of fanservice is an instant 1/10 or 0/10 score for you, then I can understand it, but people, this is almost becoming MAL level here, where potential new watchers were turned off because of 1 single fansercive .gif!

-----------

Back to the characters:
Yes, they are quite generic. If you tried to apply roles from the typical "Five man band" to them...

I guess I don't have to mention who The Lancer and The Big Guy are... that is way too obvious.

The other 2 characters are a different matter however. I don't think we have enough material yet to apply a certain role to them yet. I think the MC guy got a good chance to become The Leader, considering how he saved the day in the lokomotive and the fact that he is the MC, but I am not sure. The girl at the end of the episode could very well be the leader... I am not sure if that girl is just their superior or part of the team, yet.

Well that was a fun mindless episode. Granted it's not the most sophisticated anime but it is entertaining and that's all that matters in my book. Characters are a bit on the cliche side but the premise is interesting. We do have the fair share of fan-service but hey what can you do? Voice acting is pretty good too. Hopefully it at the very least proves to be entertaining as it goes on.

I get to know what F stands for, so that's something informative (assuming that they are not bullshitting)

I personally love the new studio. This was fantastic. The new premise is actually really interesting. I don't know much about locomotion and trains, but I remember the good old days... long, long ago... with Thomas the Tank engine and the little engine that could.

There was a bit of ecchi, but I don't mind it when there is also an excellent plot. I only mind when it gets in the way. I'm going to make a prediction now, and even though I'll likely be wrong, I'm guessing that the large-chested girl was saved by the guy when they were both small and he doesn't recognize her. He likely wants to be a train person because of her, and she because of him. Though from experience, (even though this is a new studio they might just play this one safe (relationship-wise)... or not...) the large-breasted girl will probably end up with the athletic guy and the MC will end up with the tsundere... Even though the other girl has pink hair, I feel like the tsundere and the MC seem so unmatched that they will just have to end together. Perhaps the other two will end up together... Though I may be completely wrong and this show may not be as happy as it appears from episode 1.

I'm rather impressed though with the idea of combining public safety, facts about locomotion, and trains... There's so much train "hentai" that I wish this were sort of a critique of things like Kill la Kill... (Only time will tell though.) After all, the show was pretty blatant in remarking its disdain for perverts, and what to do if there were a pervert or molester on a train.

The animation was very nice. I think I really liked the opening and especially the ending. I don't usually like rap, but that theme at the end was very nice. I always like new talent, so I'm excited for this one.

Also, I for one, enjoy the originality in this setting, and I can't wait for more.

The boobs were distracting, but I'm surprised how much respect the main guy had for her troubles with them.

THAT BEING SAID,

I loved the first episode! I realized I really like anime that take something as mundane as a railroad over-the-top seriously and make an entertaining show out of it on passion alone. Will watch a few more, hopefully it can deliver the same type of character interaction as this one did, especially covering for each other's weaknesses. That part of it was great.

You forgot the fact that Passione's very first work is none other than Haitai Nanafa (assuming anyone watched it) though it does not have serious themes like RW!.

Well as a whole the first episode was fairly fun. Certainly the characters are fitting into their archetypes, but still entertaining people to watch.

I thought the ED was pretty good. Almost too awesome for the concept of the show .

Now the MC and the main girl kinda reminds me of Chuunibyou. Well, they share the same VA.

I'm in for this series. Because the VA, the train (I love train) and the fight scene.

No. They bounce together in the same direction, up and down, not north east/south west/wathever. That scene goes against all laws of physics

At the start I was "Nooo it's a school anime?!" and when I saw the fanservice I almost drop it... Luckily they became national rail workers by the end of the first episode.

So:
  1. Train
  2. Fanservice with big boobs
  3. Uniform
  4. Chick with pink hair

It's an otaku baiting all the way.
