This show may be the dark horse of the season.

Great first episode, i'm gonna follow this anime.

The bike and the cockroach scenes killed me and an honorable mention to the cat scene.

ep 1

Honestly, I didn't find this all that funny overall, but I did chuckle every then. mainly with bicycle part. I guess my issue is despite show parodying shoujo tropes Sakura still play them too straight. That said, Nozaki deadpan and nonplussed reaction to everything is definitively the big draw for me at moment. So I'm certainly interested in watching a few more episodes at least.

It was a similar experience for me, mainly because I'm not a fan of shoujo animanga.

I really couldn't care less about Sakura's love life and how she has problems confessing, but I do enjoy how well she plays off of Nozaki's antics. Nozaki is the reason why I was able to enjoy this despite not liking most shoujo manga at all.

Just seen the episode, and that bike scene was a stroke of comedic genius; probably the best part of the execution was how the bystanders tracked their movement instead of just being part of the background.

Oh god, I lost it at least three times during the episode. Even when animated, the series sure has great comedic timing.

Of course, these comedic moments were also counterbalanced by instances where Sakura's cuteness are shown front and center. And she's adorable.

This reminds me a lot of Kami-sama Kiss/Kamisama Hajimemashita anime. Yes, that was full shoujo, with a lot of the trappings, but it wasn't stupidly over the top and the comedic timing was absolutely brilliant. Which is what makes this work. That was very funny. I look forward to the series run.

That was an excellent first episode. I very much enjoyed this show along with many other of the premieres.

Nah nah nah nah nah.

You got to let her build up the expectations so Nozaki can crush it at its peak. That's why those gags worked so well, because Sakura firmly believed in the typical Shoujo romance developments. The amount of joy when her belief shattered is so exhilarating.

But you know, this isn't a shoujo at all - it's nominally a shounen with a female lead (a unicorn in itself) who's in love with a shoujo mangaka. And it runs in a magazine (Gangan Online) that's known for series that blur demographic boundaries in a very appealing way.

I was worried from the brief text description that it would be this season's Mangaka & Assistant, a series I stopped watching and did not resume (partly because I could not tell the episodes apart to say how far I had come).

Instead I found this adorable story with the most awesome character interactions. It really all comes down to Nogizaki-kun in the first episode, but they have to expand the gallery to keep it from growing stale. Looks like that is already starting.

So far this is my favorite of the season, but it is still early.

Another comedic gold. I had laughs with Sabagebu, and this one is just as good in its own way. The oblivious scenes were great!

The premiere was occasionally funny with nothing drop dead hilarious, but this episode just had me in stitches. It seems its going to go for deconstructing cliches with Mikoshiba being a condescending person, but is actually completely embarrassed by the things he says and Seo being the rude tomboy character who doesn't actually realize she's insulting. And as usual Miyuki Sawashiro sounds so demn sexy.

funny 2nd episode.
I liked that in the 2nd half, they switched it up a bit with the mangaka himself playing the straight-man and being lost for words on things around him.

I like how Nozaki drew inspiration for his lead heroine by studying his gay friend. The show definitely mines a lot of laughs by parodying shojo archetypes. Even the short manga gags are consistently funny.

It's interesting to note that both new characters, who are tone deaf concerning basic social cues, excel in very specific unexpected areas. Mikorin is good at filling out sparkly backgrounds filled with bubbles and flowers in shoujo manga and Seo has the voice of a freaking prima donna. I think these two are a perfect match for each other.

Another winning episode for me. I laughed out loud several times at both new characters. I love me a cast full of eclectic eccentrics swirling around a mostly normal central character and that seems to be what we're building here. I'm looking forward to the new guy next week.
