forum popup
Whenever the forum link is clicked in the main page a new browser pops up. I think that the link should just open the page instead of launching a new browser because if people wanted to still view the torrent page and the forum at the same time, they can just manually open up another browser themselves or a new tab if they're using mozilla.
Before people start their sarcasm, yes, this is meant to be a 'save two click' thread, I usually don't care about this but I don't see the point of forcing you to open up a new windows for the forum page. |

I've never had that problem before. Are you using one of the Alternative sstyle? If not, you should. You can change your forum style by going to the waaaay bottom-left of the webpage and clicking on the style selection box.

Why not just access the forum through http://forums.animesuki.com ?

Either a) click on the link with the middle mouse button (which opens it in a new tab) or b) browser.block.target_new_window set to true in about:config I use the latter. No more unwanted extra browser windows.

Mb81: Don't worry, it's just a link (the "Forum" link of course) on the main page of www.animesuki.com that opens the forums in a new window.
I agree that this is a somewhat annoying feature. I usually open it in a new tab, and one can resort to any amount of browser trickery. The question is if one should have to. |

I don't really see what the problem is here. Opening the forum (a completely seperate
part of the site) in a new window is standard practice on all the sites I've build so far. If you don't like it, just: - Close the AnimeSuki.com window if you don't need it - Type in "forums.animesuki.com" directly instead of "www.animesuki.com" (I do this) - Use bookmarks/favorites |

The question of if one should really have to is simple. Yes it is. Since these two parts of the site, torrents and forum are completely different they are to be treated as seperate websites. The one is a discussion board, the other a place to get your animé fix. And you do have seperate windows (or tabs in Mozilla) open for seperate websites do you not.

I think I didn't stress enough of what point I was trying to make. I use firefox and I can always open tabs, but I don't view torrent links given at the frontpage and browse the forum at the same time. If the majority of the people don't view the main site and forum at the same time then I find it pointless to force another browser running. Since this is not much of a fix and the staff here are reluctant to change this topic I will no longer pursue this suggestion.

The thing I'm waiting to be added to the html standards is to add a target="new_tab" parameter. It would be nice for everyone who use browsers that support tabs (which is, virtually every browser but IE)
