Thanx.
It's "yami(darkness)" 闇 same as in "金色の闇" in the manga "Trouble", the writer simplified the writing.

Just guessing -- but would Konata be meaning "uniqueness" rather than "scarcity"?
I think it refers back to her comment about being tiny and flat-chested, but it's been a really long time since I've seen the series. I was still in college!

This appeared at the end of the King of Thorn film:
Spoiler for space:

Does anyone know what it says? Does have some significance to the story is it just something random?

Perhaps they should add something in there about digisubs.

I had little faith in electronic translation ('cause the sounded more odd unless it was technical document), so I would like to have this politician's critique of Madoka translated:

Try running it through Google Translate ... if the translation I got was even marginally close to accurate, this guy has my vote and money for anything he does. Basically, he feels Madoka is " excellent thoughtful animation for adults" (using adults to mean anyone who can connect the dots properly -- which eliminates some people between the age of 18 and 130). Browsing his website, I get the feeling he thinks more adults SHOULD be watching this kind of series.

Translation via Google Translate (some Madoka spoilers):
Spoiler for Madoka is *recommended* by Tanaka Ken:

Alright then, guess I'll fill in the rest.

Spoiler for text:

For those who didn't understand the Chidamari Sketch bit, it's a pun using the kanji for blood. So basically "Bloody Hidamari Sketch".

There seems to be a vast difference in interpretation from one post to another and not just in tone.... but following the links back to the general discussion of the series is useful:

What Tanaka says is that one may think anime and manga are often a kid or fun thing. But Madoka Magica is anything but that. In fact, it is intent bring out "dark side" in the real world - and he uses him being a career politician as a comparison. To be a successful politician, many sacrifice is needed, one becomes literally a different person.

The blog post is not intended toward otaku audience, but for his supporters and general public. He has to discuss what general public opinion toward otaku culture and anime. He wants his non-otaku supporters to watch Madoka Magica. (Anyway, I would believe there are voters in his electorate will just vote for him because he is an Otaku :P).

And yeah... I just looked Tanaka's Twitter account - he got a big Railgun pic as wallpaper, and talks about Ikamusume in Twitter . He is quite proud for being a fan.

I actually thought along your lines and interpretation -- that it was a generally positive analysis and an interesting comparison to politics. Seitsuki's comments just seemed very different when comparing it either to your take or the Google babelfishery.
